3) serious need for infusion of elite talent
4) acknowledgement that our D absolutely sucks
(so does our O and G for that matter, lol)
...how about we agree to lose by exciting 5-4 or 6-5 scores!!!

That way we continue to tank with dignity and have some fun along the way while accomplishing our objective.

the last few games aside from the stars game was entertaining and why did it take 45 games to get to this point?

3) serious need for infusion of elite talent

Unlike Ted, Phil is "playing ball" with the organization.

He wants a top player / top pick and understands how badly the sabres need another game changer.

imo, he should have let the pp alone instead of injecting his ideas...messed them up big time and was a huge contributor (including sh goals-against) to their early season plummet to, and spot near, the bottom of the standings

I agree. But trade all the pieces that aren't in the future plans, regardless of whether or not they're expiring contracts.
