I'd be fine with a straight swap, no money held by the Sabres and we'll throw in Fasching. But if the Sabres retained salary on Bogo and had a 4 mil cap hit on Boedker, they're making out terribly on that deal.
Plus SJ doesn't have a first this year, so it would likely be 2 seconds for Kane. Idk, that deal doesn't sound great - jcragcrumple
id say maybe hold on retaining bogo's deal. I said in my post quoting him that they dont have the first so maybe you could get a prospect on the cusp of making it. |

We need a goalie other than ullmark.
Will we trade Kane for a goalie? Who knows.
My point the other day was the sabres should look at both desmith and jarry. Jbotts is familiar with them. It's not insider info, it seamed like common sense.
Everyone was talking about how Pittsburgh only has 1 or 2 prospects. Sprong and Matta.
I mentioned what appears to be a strong position for the Pens to trade away. GOALIE
A day or 2 later, Homie posts a good article saying that pittsburgh isn't trading those guys.
You are so sure about everything,
Our goaltending is a concern, we are in 30th place. With an ahl goalie moving up .
Where's your trade talk? Throw something out, instead of shooting down my senario. - Boss34
We are in 30th place because our forwards and d-men are bad. We need to upgrade thre before we think about goaltending. Sure its a concern. But in my opinion we need at least 2 top 6 forwards and probably 2 top 4 d-men. Kane is our big trade piece and we need to fill those hole with whatever return we get.

I don't like him, but I would claim him because
we are probably trading kane and pouliot
possibly girgens
he fills one of those slots for the last 30 games of this season and keeps a kid in rochester |

Depends what the retention is. If the trade example is Boedker, if the Sabres retained enough to where both deals are balanced out at say $4.65m and the Sabres had to throw in Fasching, i'd definitely do it. There are a ton of questions at Sabres LW, and he would add some speed
If it's Sabres retain 2 mil, that effectively makes Boedker's salary 6 million dollars, and that's detrimental imo |

yeah if you're forced to retain that much you may be better off buying him out instead of adding another bad deal to the roster |

The sabres are in 30th mainly because they do not score enough and :
They do not limit the other team from scoring too much.
So basically
Not enough out of the forwards
Not enough out of the defense
Not enough out of the goaltending
Having ullmark and another young goalie would make me feel pretty comfortable about that current issue moving forward.
Most likely the sabres won't add a #1 , 2 or 3 defenseman for kane. Or a top 6 forward for him. Kane is a rental player who is cold.
If you are looking for a scoring winger why wouldn't a team add vanek for way less?
Also : I seriously doubt Teams are calling and asking to see kane play on a 3rd line. Especially with larson and pommenville. Borderline collusion.

So we should see him as an nhl player in 2022?
It takes goalies a few years to develop.
Ullmark looks great in the ahl, I'd be thrilled if he was a true #1 for buffalo next year. He also had double hip surgery a few years back? Injuries happen and with the sabres recent lack of development from the ahl, it's hardly a lock. |

Kyrou is probably a guy they dangle for hoffman or pacioretty - Sabresfan-365
"On trading Shattenkirk to the Washington Capitals in February for forwards Zach Sanford and Brad Malone, a first-round pick in 2017 and conditional draft picks
"It was an interesting dynamic because we had a trade worked out with one team the summer before pending him signing a contract with them. And he wasn't completely comfortable with that."
I would like to know which team that was |

Im a big fan of Ullmark and I think management is too. they speak very highly of him. I think he could be the started next season along with a back up signed over the summer. I would 100 times rather upgrade the team around him than to allocate assets for another goalie. Once Kane is gone it leaves a big hole on an offense that already needs help. The D-core is an absolute mess too. I dont think Kane will net nearly as big of a return as previously suggested. Instead I think you have an opportunity to add along with kane for a young forward with offensive upside or d-man that could slide into a 3-4 role. And also hopefully bring back a 2nnd or 1st round pick.

I agree with his value, not near what everyone wants or expects. In my opinion.
Not sure if we miss last 15 games ek9.
2 wins in a row
Ek9 2 hits and 2 shots 0 points.
Life's a bit harder without Eichel on his line
