But why would the ROR haters take that into account?
It doesn’t fit their narrative - jdfitz77
Fine I’ll do this -
Perrault points per 60 (efficiency)
17-18 2.36
16-17 1.87
15-16 1.61
Ryan O’Reilly p/60
17-18 - 1.38
16-17 - 1.38
15-16 - 1.42
Seriously, just admit you’re wrong and stop already |

Breaking news-
Ryan O’Reilly is an average 2nd line player who’s paid like a top 30 forward |

I really think the trade rumours and knowing he is getting moved has slowed his roll in games . Can't trade an injured player. - cabin
You can trade an injured player (remember when we traded for him when he was injured?) , But not many teams would want to take that risk. I wonder if the team told him to slow down? |

but with eichel and ror, there should at least be a few 3 game winning streaks
that is the flip side to the coin - homiedclown
Not necessarily
And the “3” games won in a row is a completely arbitrary number
We have looked good at times,
and against good teams...
have we not?
It just doesn’t happen often bc we still have quite a few guys playing roles above where they should actually be slotted
I like Risto...
but he’s played like a Norris trophy candidate
Even O’Reilly is played too much
These guys don’t suck,
they’re on a sucky team...
which makes them look worse
Maintaining we can replace guys like ROR with guys like Perrault is a bad idea
Perrault didn’t get more icetime before Laine & Ehlers, etc either
It’s bc he just isn’t that good
I wouldn’t mind him as our 3C
That would make sense
Replacing ROR with him...
Or Kane with a guy who scores 13g 28a
(I know, not u that said that)...
etc etc etc
Those moves don’t get us to the playoffs either

I think he had a cat walk to go to |
|
|
|
Sure!
But...
Botts raised his price
Based on that,
it’s safe to assume that demand is still high & that teams are not dropping out - jdfitz77
I don't think it's safe to assume anything. I don't put any stock in these 'reports'. These 'reporters' have had to talk about Kane trade rumors for months now, with no actual news. There's also a very good chance that they move something with Kane and that this '4 piece' rumor is not what they make it seem.

You can make any 3rd liner look great by looking at that stat alone. You know that doesn't tell even close to the whole story

I mostly agree
If teams come out to see something special in kane and then he doesn't do anything special (like the last 15 games) might there be less teams interested in trading for him?
And wouldn't that lower his value, the whole supply and demand thing?
Aside from wanting a hot player to put them over the hump? - Boss34
Maybe? Like I said though we all know who Kane is, we've got almost 550 games of sample size. I don't think a team that's making a serious offer is going to suddenly pull the offer because he's gone cold after a blistering, for him, start.
And as far as wanting a hot player, that's the crapshoot in making a trade. Cold guys have been traded and gone on a tear and hot guys have been traded and didn't do a damn thing. You never know until you put said player into the situation. |

Then why wasn’t he on Team Canada over O’Reilly?
Could it be that you’re excluding other factors?
Hmmmmmmm
And why didn’t Perrault get more icetime before Laine & Ehlers were there?
Carlson has more 5v5pts than Karlsson...
I’ll bet he doesn’t play more
EXPLAIN THAT
Kane has the same as Matthews
O’Reilly has more than Toews
And on, and on, and on...

1. they made the playoffs last year, we did not
2. that 20 million cap starts next year
http://www.hockeybuzz.com...central/team.php?team=EDM - homiedclown
So they're gonna miss the playoffs with those two centers this year. They're paying them more than ours next year. Would you trade either of them because the team sucks? |

as would any hockey fan outside of WNY |
