Like instead of trying to breakdown wins above replacement (which i actually dont believe works too well with hockey) maybe create something that identifies/gives you an idea of value to $$

I think he brings close to that for far less money. I know hes bringing pretty much the same production especially at 5v5.

Defensive metrics are harder pin down. I haven't seen much out there (even by eye test) that actually confirms ROR is some defensive demi-god.

Idk that you can
Bc the the leaps in production/$$ from 3rd liners to 2nd liners, and 2nd liners to 1st liners, and 1st liners to superstars won’t make sense mathematically

If u put together a team that way,
you’d have a bunch of 3rd liners in your lineup

You’d have to figure out what “exponential” is the right $$$ value to justify paying for the upgrade
But...
Contracts change year to year
And a team like Tampa can get players to sign for cheaper than a team like Buffalo

Unless you’re a math genius...
