I think a lot of players on the Jets look good because they have a lot more good players than the Sabres
- jcragcrumple

they are a fun team to watch

before this year, I would watch flames or oilers for my late game

I have watched more jets games then both of them combined this year

There’s outliers to every stat.

Like Sean Couturier having 26 goals this year. Why is he all the sudden scoring? Did he just wake up and learn how to bury goals? Or is he just getting a bigger role this season ?

- sbroads24

Absolutely, but you were using /60 just as much as Fitz was using points. And both of those are wrong, and right. The truth is in the middle. Otherwise you get "Chimera is Eichel except salary and ice time."

Idk that you can
Bc the the leaps in production/$$ from 3rd liners to 2nd liners, and 2nd liners to 1st liners, and 1st liners to superstars won’t make sense mathematically

If u put together a team that way,
you’d have a bunch of 3rd liners in your lineup

You’d have to figure out what “exponential” is the right $$$ value to justify paying for the upgrade
But...
Contracts change year to year
And a team like Tampa can get players to sign for cheaper than a team like Buffalo

Unless you’re a math genius...

Good luck though
If u can find something that works & makes sense u could probably get yourself a job for an nhl team

- jdfitz77

It's what we thought vegas was (i know extreme example). It's tough, all the pieces are there.

I used something similar for soccer (much smaller scale) to get my last job so it'd be cool if i could make something work for me.

If the guy who thinks chimera is better than Eichel can get one than anyone can

I don't know what to make of that lol. Fun side projects never hurt anyone. as long as more time is spent in the gym and with a woman its usually harmless

No, he wouldn’t.

That’s an outlier.

Stats aren’t perfect

Id have to understand more about how your woman/60 compares to your math/60?

It’s very suspicious to me.

Again. That’s short sighted.

But whatever

- sbroads24

I'd be very interested in seeing how often a player who is producing at a strong rate with lesser minutes continues to produce at the same rate with more minutes because it sure seems like an almost auto default for the stat devotees that those players will always do that if given the added ice time.

Right, but the per 60 makes sense when there is such a discrepancy in ice time, like there is between O’Reilly and Perrault.

Of course Perrrault isn’t going to keep up when over the 3 years, he’s played hundreds of less minutes.

And I know that’s what you are saying, but what I’m saying is it’s an “efficiency” stat and not to be used to rank players.

It’s my opinion Perrault could fill the role. I’m not right until he actually would or have to

Sell high.

If you can. We know what he is.

17-20 goal 40 point player

If a sucker GM thinks he can be a star. Take advantage

- sbroads24

When you say "sell high" do you mean that the player is playing well and he is at a high point of value?

And maybe more gms and teams would want him because he's playing better?

Some "scouts" may see his "hot " play? Maybe even in person?

A Chevy chevette is more efficient than a Pontiac GTO.

That’s what I think every time I read “efficient”.

Hey Homie,

Not to change the topic, but what say you about Joshua Jackson from Iowa? Not that that is the biggest position of need, but he reminds me of Sidney Jones. I’m thinking my dream scenario for Bills would be stay put and get Jackson with Roq Smith or Payne. They stay put and guaranteed to get at least one difference maker on defense on paper.
