Glad they won as Sabres fan, the Edmonton games was fun to watch.

As mentioned in my earlier post above, they are not playing what I would call quality hockey by any means. I dont care how they do it, by finishing last or by getting lucky...they need a top 5 pick for a better chance to strike oil at obtaining another game changer.

That quite the list.
Speaking for me only, I going with
a) a long history in which the percentages reveal a higher success rate associated with higher picks
b) Sabres stellar history of uncovering those gems such as those above. I see one Sabres pick there, and while we are all right to assume Casey will be awesome in the NHL, exactly how many goals and assists has he put up just yet?
c) Sabres absolute need for as much talent infusion as is possible.

I want them to have a high pick. I really do. But I'm not going to root against the team for what ultimately will be a top 10 pick no matter what. Look at what Botts did with pick #8 this year. We haven't seen any pro play yet from CM, but (frank) he looks good. Would it be a surprise if he turns into one of the most dynamic offensive talents from the 2017 draft? I doubt it. The best teams have talent from mostly the first 4 rounds. The Sabres? Well, right now, anyone of significance is from the 1st or 2nd round. Even some of those guys don't help on a complimentary level. There's no other way to do it. Be better at drafting. The Lightning has Stamkos. And later draft picks. Because they drafted well and signed quality depth with whatever openings they had.
