Brodeur played 70 games and you named the defenders yourself that had him play games where he faced as few as 6 shots in a game. Andersen faces the most shots in the league because the defense allows it and because he has started more games than any other goalie. If they had a more capable back-up, maybe that wouldn't be the case.

In the previous 4 games he's started, before last nights game, the Leafs scored a combined 4 goals.

Fault the Leafs because two years ago, they signed career backup MakeASavey instead of career backup Hutton - even though though MakeASavey had better SV% numbers. I should point out that at the time, Uggie wouldn't have been able to pick Hutton out of a police lineup.

Last year, our guy actually had a percentage point better SV% than Hutton.

But this year, playing for a team that is significantly better on the blue line, the Blues' backup goalie is doing well - so MLSEL management is incompetent.

It's weird how guys like Uggie and Tanner have all the answers, yet the hockey world refuses to listen to them.

I don't know why you're interpreting this as an insult to Andersen, that wasn't even close to the point...

If they had Hutton for example, he still plays 8 games? I don't think so. Playing Andersen into the ground could come back to bite him in the ass. He's a big body who faces the most shots. That's risky.

I don't think he's an idiot. ...but I do think he underestimates how far along this team is. For almost 15 years this team stunk and in many ways ug was right about what needed to happen. I think he is having a hard time believing that this team is close to contender status. And that's his perogative. I. When it's been such a poopshow for so long and you're used to second guessing this team...it's kind of hard to alter that perspective even if things seem to be going good.
