Heard that too, Marlins wanted Vlad Jr for Yelich..

That would be tough to do.. Vlad Jr, has to be Donaldson's replacement..

- PatC80

Exactly.
As donaldson can Tulo's replacement.

Gotta say... good for Carrick to stand up to a pretty tough guy in Roussel. He even got a good shot in and gave some kidney shots
- markmark

Yep...he's pretty tough for a smaller guy.

and Go (frank) Yourself......I was out for dinner with Bix and read what you posted.

not for Yelich straight

Bo would be reasonable

Vlad is the best prospect the Jays have had. by all accounts absolute superstar potential. he is only 18.

- senstroll

agreed.
I wouldnt have even for Bo.

Have great forward group lessens the need for a Doughty/Letang is what it really means. Leafs should keep their D and add Evander Kane or someone like that.
- annoyed

Ixnai on evander kanai
Dont want that attitude.

Also, Dallas' goal is pretty squarely on Matthews. Needs to cover the slot there.

He better be careful or he will end up on the 4th line centering Martin and.... Hyman... obviously.

Yea he got out muscled and beat. Hainsey chased. But Matthews let Seguin walk into the slot uncontested. Not terrible but he can't stand there watching without tagging up on an opponent.

I could be wrong. Does Hyman never leave Matthews wing or does he never leave the top line?

C'mon....Matthews wins the draw as clean as you can....Gard's gets out muscled for sure ( which is the norm in any puck fight for him ) but he should have just went behind the net to begin with...trys to dipsy doodle 2 feet from his net...peewee house hockey. Other then that he played pretty well though.

We play a pretty good game, Hyman and Matthews scores and your complaining about Hyman still? Give the guy a game off from your abuse.

DAMMIT IT WAS ALL A JOKE YOU MOFOS. Obviously Matthews isn't going to the 4th line.

(Although I still think Matthews needs to tighten up on that play and YES, Gardiner needs to not do that bullpoop either)

Man Matthews is a beast....so heavy on his skates he can just keep focused on the puck. A couple times last night I just laughed and shook my head how he keeps getting the puck back in traffic.

The Leaf fans have to be happy with 2 wins over good teams in the West, both coming with 2 top D men out..

It's crazy how he uses his feet as well. He often makes plays to get the puck from his feet to his stick all while never even looking down.

If they offered Yelich for Bo straight up...I think you have to do it.

Yelich is basically what you hope Bo ends up as. He is only 25 ..800+ Ops. Very good player

I'd be shocked if Dreger actually had any inside info.

Johnson sucks and shoots left..dont see the point

- senstroll

Meh, he could be a fit

If they ask for Komarov straight up, do you do it?

I would.

Yep on the fly going over the blueline....that's what playing 3 on 3 hockey does for you I guess....all those plays in small areas. Hockey Canada is going to do something similar starting next year I think....IP / Novice etc will be only playing 1/2 rink or something like that.

A couple of quick points on MakeASavey:

Better Sv% than Andersen.

Better GAA than Andersen.

I'm not saying he deserves to be the starter.

I'm not saying Andersen has been bad.

I'm just saying McBackup has earned his position as backup for the rest of the year.

Well, he's likely gone after this year.

If they can trade him for a defensmen who has been a solid number 5 this year and was better last year. And, he's a UFA so there is no commitment.

Uncle Leo looked fantastic on the fourth line last night.

Of course, there's 100 other guys we could put there who would also look fantastic on the fourth line.

I dont really know the ins and out of it..but Team are allotted a certain amount of pool money for international players. year to year what teams have to spend is different depending on they did the previous season.

Probably a lot of luck involved
