Also, Dallas' goal is pretty squarely on Matthews. Needs to cover the slot there.
He better be careful or he will end up on the 4th line centering Martin and.... Hyman... obviously. - markmark
He was actually covering Benn. You can see it on the reply, him looking over his right shoulder to where Benn was. Hainsey left Seguin open to go to Radulov after Gardiner pulled a Gardiner.
Edit: I don’t regret this post! |

My reasoning is this.
Cole > Polak
But both play the same kind of game, only on opposite sides.
Babcock wants a "Polak" out there.
Babcock doesn't seem to like Moore nor Leivo. Both are cheap and the Penguins need a 4th line centre that is above AHL level.
Rielly-Hainsey
Gards-Zaitsev
Cole-Carrick
is better in my opinion than a Borgman-Polak bottom pairing that really gets caught with their lack of speed and overaggressiveness.
Let Cole walk next year just like Moore would walk and Leivo lost to waivers or something. Bring back Borgman who should be improved with some serious minutes on the Marlies. |

He's old and he's only played 8 games this year. I don't know why Babcock runs Andersen into the ground and refuses to play McElhinney more often but it's probably because he knows he can't really be trusted to play more than he is right now. The Leafs do need an upgrade at back-up because Andersen playing 70 games a year isn't a good habit to get into. The Leafs have two guys playing great for the Marlies, one of which has proven he can play in the NHL before and both are younger with more potential going forward. - Unholy_Goalie
MakeASavey has better GAA and SV% than Andersen.
He was franking awesome last night. He’s been terrific for a guy with such low volume of work.
“Hot in the AHL” means jack-poop for goalies.
Do you even watch the games?
Say hi to Tanner for me. |

Might not be great to go 70 games a season but lou and company got Brodeur to play basically 70+ games for 13 seasons and that seemed to work out ok. Few vezinas and stanley cups in the mix. Not saying anderson is brodeur now but it's been proven it can work. Plus Brodeur also had Niedermayer and Stevens in front of him and played a defensive trap system which at the end of the day certainly made his numbers better then they would have been with any other team.

Brodeur played 70 games and you named the defenders yourself that had him play games where he faced as few as 6 shots in a game. Andersen faces the most shots in the league because the defense allows it and because he has started more games than any other goalie. If they had a more capable back-up, maybe that wouldn't be the case. |

Just had a look at Pittsburg D stats.
The first question that comes into my mind is.. What the (frank) has happened so far this season
They have very decent possession numbers... but the goal results are total poop
Letang 54.92 CF% and goals for/against 25-46
They are in a playoff spot at the moment with some extreme terrible luck it looks like.
So put some sheckles on them winning a lot down the stretch

To watch, I'm guessing the firemen exercice would be less extreme to enter.

Still can't believe they won the cup without Letang last year.
They'll always be dangerous as long as Crosby and Malking are there. |

Meh, Cole is like a slightly younger Polak.. The player to target from Pittsburgh is Frankie Corrado.

Nobody has played more hockey than the Penguins the past two years. They're tired of the grind. Hard to stay motivated when you've already won two Cups in a row. Also had some injuries, Murray hasn't been the best, no Fleury to fall back on. |
