Casey Nelson career stats: 0.17ppg. He was an undrafted free agent. Cost to acquire: 0.00
Jack Roslovic career stats: 0.11ppg. He was the last piece of a blockbuster trade, every piece of which has been been followed obsessively night and day in a very odd - very peculiar - way for almost exactly THREE years.
So let’s all jump up and down about the spine tingling talent GMTM threw away when he traded Jack Roslovic.
It bears mentioning, in this regard, that another word often bandied about in these pages, in connection with the talent exchanged in that very trade, is “irreplaceable”.
Casey Nelson, and 30 or 40 other players that enter the ranks of professional hockey every year, makes 0.111 ppg expendable.
But please SBroads, set your text alerts to Jack (frank)ing Roslovic, and let us all know how quickly his snappy 0.111 becomes as torrid as Joel Armia’s 0.333.

Some just can't seem to get over it. It's actually quite hilarious and sad, all at once.

What’s Boeser’s ppg? Asking for a friend .. also “irreplaceable” stemmed from those saying kane’s Style of play was so unique that he’d be impossible to replace and we need him to win. If you just read that last sentence and thought wtf? That’s exactly what i said to those who claimed so lol

I wonder how many true power forwards are left, at least like the power forwards of years ago, like a John LeClair.

So I’m thinking of doing some research on NHL player production that will take me some time to fit into my schedule.
One aspect is to gain an understanding of what the populist definition of the following classification of players
...so help me out by providing your definition of the following categories...it may be useful to think of some in percentage or absolute numbers as appropriate for the class or group of classes(I.e. Elite is top 17% of all forwards, or 10% of 1 line forwards)

Thoughts? The more the better! - IonSabres
Generational IMO would be Hasek
Elite would be Perreault, Lafontaine, Mogilny
Very good would be Briere, Satan, Vanek, Soupy, Miller
Good would be JP, Zhitnik, Risto (now, could move up), Okopso, Max etc
IMO guys like Larsson, Lehner, Bogo, etc do not belong in a chart with these terms
