Those were regular stats, not possession stats.

Neither points scored nor goal differential measures defensive ability.

Goals allowed does.

- Der Kaiser

Not really. If your goalie and forwards suck your numbers probably will too unless you can be in four places at once.

Id toss other stats here but since any stat outside of GF and GA is considered witchcraft i just went with those

Not witchcraft, just... incomplete. Like that breakup stat that gets bandied about so often. It means (frank)-all without attempts.

or attempts itself means (frank) all.

If you hit on 100 girls and get 10 numbers, you've scored 10 numbers

if you hit on 0 girls and get 0 numbers(read as risto letting everyone and anyone just walk in) you're a shmuck.

Exactly. Which is why breakups/attempts gives a percentage. Which gives you a much better idea of efficiency instead of a raw number that means nothing on its own.

No one said u HAVE to
We said it’s MUCH more likely

Please...
explain how winning an extra 6/7 games will suddenly change the “loser” mentality u like to talk about

It’s not like the players are gonna be super psyched bc they finish in 6th last place

Top 3 pick is greater likelihood and that player can potentially start Day 1.

Please tell me what competitive players in their right minds don't want to win every time they lace em up.

Take any team's top 6 forwards, and maybe 1 or 2 of them are top 5 picks. So don't sit there and say you have a better shot at top talent. Invest in your scouting department, not in bad players in the hopes that you lose 50 games.

People need to stop with the "hoping to lose" crap. It's lame, doesn't guarantee you sh!t, and, quite frankly, it's embarrassing.

Who cares when the player starts? Haven't you guys learned your lesson with trying to rush players? When they're ready, they're ready.

Who said i want th Sabres players to not try?
Who said not to invest in the scouting department?

These are the facts
There’s a better success rate the higher up you pick

Thinking that finishing 6th worst instead of second worst doesn’t change the “culture of losing”

Thinking it will is what’s ridiculous

Look at the top 20 scorers.

Tell me again how there's a better success rate.

Wtf are u talking about?
Like half of them were either 1st or 2nd overall picks?!!!

U really think there more guys picked 6th who end up being better than guys picked 2nd?

It’s not my opinion man
It’s documented fact that the higher up u pick, the better the success rate

You're making my point for me.

They haven't drafted well. Other teams have. Other teams have identified, drafted and developed the 2nd, 3rd, 5th rounders, etc and turned them into what are top 6 players.

The leading scorer in the league wasn't even a first round pick.

6 of the top 10 were drafted out of the top 5, some not even in the first round.

No one said u can’t fond good players outside of the top5

But the FACT is tha the success rate is BETTER the HIGHER u pick

And u still haven’t explained how finishing 6th last instead of 2nd last magically cure this so called “loser mentality”
