Eric Wood came out 56 minutes late, basically said what everybody knew and walked out without taking questions. He spoke for 1:42. Totally bizarre.

I heard it on the radio, it sounded like he barely got through it without losing it. Not at all surprised he didn't take questions. And does it really matter anyway? He's got a disc dangerously close to his spinal cord, he sustained 2 injuries in weeks 5 and 6, he can't play. What else is there to know?

Give the guy some time to process it, Jesus. A couple weeks isn't nearly enough time.

According to the BN, they save a ton of money against the cap if he retires after June 1. Why not have the press conference then? Kinda wasted a lot of time for a lot of people today, if they knew he couldn't/wouldn't talk and answer questions

Yeah, the NFL is the same way too. Flagging guys(before this year) for celebrating a TD, Peyton wanted to wear black high tops to honor Unitas and the NFL said no. Stupid.

The NBA has "main alternate" jerseys and then 1-time use jerseys for special events and such

The NHL makes a big deal about how an alternate jersey must be worn for a minimum of two years, bla, bla, bla to protect the sanctity of the jersey as a symbol and the brand.

AND YET...

The ads are coming for NHL jerseys. So fans get all of the downside of NHL jerseys with ads and none of the fun aspects. If the Montreal Canadiens only want 2 jerseys for the rest of their existence, awesome, go for it. But other teams should be given creative leeway. It's not hard to make it work:

"We're gonna wear our green St. Patrick's jerseys tonight at home, can you guys wear your red jerseys so there's no confusion?"

"yeah"

"ok, thanks"
