Sure, but you don't just forget a language, and again, he played in the KHL without issue, so I think it's pretty safe to say he speaks Russian. They don't gaf in the KHL, you either speak Russian or you don't understand anything. I remember reading about Ryan Whitney's experience. Thankfully a couple of the guys on the team spoke some English and were able to help him.
