If I was talking to Nashville about Kane, I would be interested in a couple prospects and not necessarily a roster player. I would be interested in Victor Ejdsell, LW, 6'5", 214 lbs, 22 y/o who has played with Asplund and Dante Fabbro, D, 6'1", 185 lbs, 19 y/o is a sophomore at BU. The question would be if they would be willing to part with two prospects plus a pick.

He is, but the OC from Minnesota is the HC now. So it could make sense for a backup plan/future planning.

The lottery sucks... this is the way the draft should work. I know it is too progressive for some and takes some accounting but here it goes. Every week teams are ranked from 1 to 32. the team in 1st that week gets 1 point the team in last gets 32. These ranking happen every week. At the end of the season the team with the most points get 1st pick. This is take into account those teams that tank the season in the last 2 months to get a higher pick. If you really are the worst team in the NHL (which this crude but effective system would tell you who was really the worst for the entire year) you should get the 1st pick, not some other team that tanked and got lucky.

As soon as a teams start popping on the other available rentals I feel like Kane's value diminishes and we are less likely to get close to ask for him. Make it happen. If there is a great deal on the table we might get caught with our pants down if we hold out too long. If Jbotts f@@ks this up he is gone imo.
