Quebec City too and a number of other places. I agree - safe, but you need to keep reminding yourself to not turn.

I also think it's for police fundraising

Leafs fan perspective

Carrick, Bracco, Bozak, Soshnikov 2nd

Weber (2M retained), Phillip Danault

"let's face it.. .at this point Weber is a cap dump"

Habs Fan perspective

Nylander, Rielly, 2 x 1st Rounders

Weber, Plekanec

"Leafs will take our proven veterans and be automatically better, Weber has years left"

- BorjeFan4Ever

I'm sure he does - fishing and golfing.

oh jeezus...

Habs fans can't be that delusional can they?

Weber might be interesting if the price was reasonable(no 1st round picks) and the Habs retain $2M a year.

Actually reading the article I think it was from a Leafs fan and written, in part, in jest.
Someone basically challenged him to write why the deal would make sense for the Leafs and he had silly arguments, like because Weber has a huge dog and the writer likes dogs, or cause Willy was wearing an ugly jacket in a photo.

It was basically a joke of an article.

this is a tried and true media pot stirring exercise... nothing more.

the Toronto media has indirectly tried to influence the outcome of how the team is managed for years... under the current regime... that activity has dried up (thank god). The Montreal media has been doing the same....

next will come the phase where they will openly discuss how they could NEVER trade Weber, or Pacioretty, ... how valuable they are.

same circus... different year on the calendar.

I always try to take their stories or articles with a grain of salt. They sell stories for a living so they try to make stories and "back it up".

Simmons is the worst, or one of, he talked about how signing Cody Franson a couple years ago was a better idea than trading for a 2nd round pick. Franson was a known commodity and the 2nd round pick wasn't so take the known commodity. Nevermind he sucked anyway and the unknown could be much better.

Also, if I wear a Bruins jersey shall I expect a Philadelphiaesq response or just get a little poop, of which I'd expect and be fine with?

Any game I've been to, it's actually a totally friendly vibe with rival fans. Even with major rivals from hardcore fanbases where there a lot of them in the arena, it's cool. That's one of the funnest things about going to the games actually, you end up talking hockey with some fans from other cities and learn some things.

Just farting around on the interdweebs before closing up shop.

If anyone was thinking of doing a reverse-RJ (going to Boston this weekend to watch the Leafs), you can go on Travelocity and fly in Friday, fly out Sunday, stay at a pretty nice boutique hotel in Back Bay (kinda like Yorkville) - includes free drinks, continental breakfast.

$500 per person, based on double occupancy. That's CDN$, all in.

Sadly, I can't do it.

Dammit - go Saturday morning until Monday night.

Really good flight times (basically pick whenever you want).

$415 per person. That's all in.

Double dammit - I can't do it.

The only thing I hate... which is super minor.... is the two lane section of the 401 out there because semis always try and pass eachother. Guess what takes forever? A SEMI GOING 101km/h TRYING TO PASS A SEMI GOING 100km/h!!

(Disclaimer I spent the last two weekends in PEC and it kept happening on the drive )

- markmark

Believe me, it is a real hassle. trying to circumnavigate the 401, east of Cobourg. It took them 4 years to just put in 5 miles of 3 lane highway, going east of there. The truck traffic, from Kingston to Cobourg is ridiculous.

Not gonna predict a score, but I see the Leafs flying high after last night's game, the rookie's scoring their first goals, the new lineup configuration, is going to overcome the back-to-factor with a big W.
