I was at the game last night, it was unreal. When Dermott scored, our section was going nuts and we were getting everyone to stand and cheer. When he appeared on the jumbotron, it was nuts haha. At the end, the guys beside me started a Freddie chanted and we were all nervous that we were jinxing his shutout with like 45 seconds to go - Conquest
Young dude in front of me was high as a kite.
He kept on standing up at random times while the play was going on - for no apparent reason. I kept politely asking him to sit down.
He was completely passed out on his date's shoulder for the 2nd period.
Gone for the third.
Ah, to be young and stupid... |

if a doughy, karlsson, trouba or oel was the trade, i'd be ok with liljegren in the package.
but not for a guy already on the wrong side of 30. - Tumbleweed
yeah thats different. Also though 3 of those players are UFA soon also. which changes how you approach it.
But I think the development of Dermott allows the Leafs to be more paitent and let the deal come to them.
Also consider Lilg. is a RH shot. young skill RHD are valuable |

i feel like the need to add a bottom pairing dman at the tdl is gone if dermott keeps up his play.
maybe you can do a minor swap of leivo for a #7/8 type guy.
i have hard time seeing liljegren being moved. |

Only three players in the last 30 years scored more even-strength goals after their first 124 NHL games than Auston Matthews:
1. Teemu Selanne (64)
2. Eric Lindros (59)
3. Pavel Bure (55)
4. Auston Matthews (53) - nbboy
Should've drafted Laine... |

And to further pile on:
Four of the goals were sweeeeet!
Two 1st NHL goals.
The Marner goal was fantastic.
And the Matthews goal - Greiss had the fantastic poke check, which of course ended up on Matthews' stick. |

I'm sure in the next CBA the League will ensure that only pretty goals are counted. |

If you could go back, would you take Barzal or Werenski over Marner? |

Looks nice to me, and if they can find a nice solid upgrade for Hainsey for the right side..they will be in a good place. |

Werenski for sure. Haven't seen enough of Barzal and he didn't impress last night although nobody on NYI did, even Tavares. |
