Was at the game last night. Was a big fan of Seabrook but he's looking done. Beyond slow, indecisive and having a real hard time positionally. Debincat looks dangerous almost every time he has the puck while Duclaire looks like a huge upgrade from Panik. Saad looks totally ordinary while Hartman was pretty much invisible. Kempny is totally lost with zero confidence. Toews was our best player. The pace only comes in spurts now. This team is lacking both identity and direction. - walter34
That is all on the coaching staff. |

Was that booing I heard several times when Keith handled the puck?
If so, will those numbskulls still be doing that when Keith is playing in an old timers game there 15 years from now? Those teams do not even look the same when that event took place umpteen years ago. Time to get over it!! |

If... IF, the Hawks become sellers, this is what I'd like to see.
Trade Anisimov: I think the return for him will be good, especially to a team making a push.
Trade Wingles/Bouma/Sharp: Not going to get much if anything, but they're taking playing time away from others. Could be cheap depth pieces for a playoff team. A pick is a pick. Anything can happen when drafting an 18 yo, no matter the spot.
Trade 2 of Gus/Kempny/Rutta: Hawks have too many #3/4 defenseman. Clear up the log jam.
Trade/Waive Franson: I don't see the point with him being in Rockford, he's taking up ice time and if we're selling, why waste the space.
With the extra space, get some of the Rockford guys up who could push for a spot, and then some late year additions.
But mainly what I'd like to see, get some of these young guys on the PP/PK. If we're selling and out of the playoffs, whats the hurt of putting guys out there. Not saying pull Toews/Saad from the PK and Kane from the PP, but mix in more Debrincat/Duclair to the PP, lets see more of Schmaltz/Kampf on the PK.
What I think making these trades does is set the roster (with a few changes) for next year. Gives the players time to develop further together on their lines and carry it forward to next year.
I don't think you can possibly give up on Crow right now. But to me, there is not a starter behind Crow. Forsberg seems, at best, a serviceable backup. Glass... should be Rockford through and through.
In my eyes, making these trades is a way of "tanking" the season that isn't a tank job, because I feel like it can be a huge benefit for development for next year. Maybe I'm thinking about it the wrong way. |

Agreed. They gotta boo someone, other than their own. |

I'm not saying you're wrong but, last night the Hawks had 8 minutes of PP time. Debrincat on for 3:16, Duclair on for 2:57, Toews on for 3:16 and Kane on for 5:24. Those numbers suggest they are in the mix. |

You're right... I have seen them in the mix, same as my mention of Schmaltz/Kampf on the PK. They have been out there.
But there is time to give others.
Anisimov: 4:39 PP, why not try and get Saad in the mix?

Both players involved are still there. Would you boo Raffi Torres? |

What contending team would be the best fit for AA? Just my opinion the return should be a young center or d man and 2nd. |

Plus those guys are all in the top 100 of all time.
-which makes it so hard to believe Hocks at bottom of the Central
I'm hoping Chicago playoff miss so it becomes harder and harder to remember when the Hocks last scored a home playoff goal. As you might remember Rinne had back to back shutouts in Chicago........... - VopatsRash
So troll....
Where were you the other night when the Hawks beat your sorry team in your redneck pathetic building???
That's what I thought - you are a gutless loser!!!!
And just to clarify - those three players on the top 100 list were important pieces to 3 STANLEY CUPS!!!! Come back in 50 years when your team wins it's first!!!!
:lol

Seabrook had third worst Corsi game of the season. He had a 35 percent Corsi, 27.27 shots percentage & minus-2 goal differential. |

Artem Anisimov was on the left wing with Nick Schmaltz and Patrick Kane at practice. Brandon Saad moved to the third line. |

Is Saad centering the 3rd line? That would be weird. |

I'd say this hints they will not trade him. I think he fits better there, but will lose value with the positional adjustment. |

My guess is 2 of Hinostroza, Wingels, and Kampf will be 3C and 4C. |

First, keep in mind term of contract, AA is not a rental, so it would have to be to somewhere where they can stomach the $$'s for a few years.
Also, it has to be somewhere where AA can see himself for a few more years. He is in control here.
With that being said, I dont think he goes to a team in the Central.
Teams that make sense to me would be:
PIT
NJ
MTL (I know they're out but need C for future)
SJ
CAL
Calgary is the most intriguing one there. They need help up front and have cap space now and next year.
If they are scared they are going to loose Backlund next year (good possibility because someone will overpay in a weak FA pool) they can slide Anisimov in as a replacement next year. The big question is would AA waive, not sure.
The Hawks need a top 4 shutdown D... Calgary has one that they may part with... Michael Stone (27 years old with 2 more years at 3.5M after this season).
Would you do do: Anisimov and Rutta for Michael Stone (and a pick/prospect)?

Lots of coaches do it. There's lines that don't work, change them. |

Win a few in a row then lose against Vancouver. Maybe let that group come back intact against Calgary and see what they do. Yes, HC makes changes to lines. Sometimes less is more. When a team is struggling with consistency you let them play through it. Change after change after change. |

Joel Quenneville rides the hot hand and never fails to try to improve a cold one. So it’s no surprise that a few tweaks appear in store for Saturday’s game against the Calgary Flames and the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Artem Anisimov skated with Patrick Kane and Nick Schmaltz on the second line at practice Thursday at the Saddledome. Brandon Saad was dropped from the second line to the third line with Tommy Wingels and Lance Bouma, who looks like he will draw into the lineup against his former team. Ryan Hartman was the odd man out. |

Did you see Stones -5 the other night. I know + - isn't always a indication especially one game. I can't say I know much of Stone , but I have heard some say he is not that good

Lottery time - EnzoD
31 games left - “only” 5 points out - yeah, even with having to pass 4 teams - not lottery time yet.
This season’s history says “no”, but if they can go 15/16/17 points in the next 10 with several of the games against th teams ahead of them in the WC chase (Cal x 2, Stars, Minnie, Annie, LAK)....Possible, if not likely.
If they can only manage 10 points or less - if they can’t make up ground - if they’re in the same spot with only 20 games left - yeah, lottery. |
