maybe one of those crack reporters like lazerus...can ask Q why glass is playing tonight...when forsberg has played really well of late...he had no chance on those nuck goals the other night...
must win (again) vs a speed team and tough building and he goes with glass...
ok.... - bogiedoc
Glass is a home town boy and Q is hoping that he will play better in front of family and friends.
Also about the Panarin trade. I think Bowman overreacted to losing Hossa he thought Saad could somehow replace him which we know could never happen.
As for Forsberg I think he has played well and he is better than anything else the Blackhawks have in there organization. I thought this would be a up and down year but I never thought Toews and Seabrook would fall this bad of the cliff! |

Saad is a mystery. The guy has all the tools. Size, strength and speed. Yet he seems totally lost. I thought getting Saad back was a great move as he is just hitting his prime. Its a common theme with many on this team. Something is way wrong. Team chemistry? Coaching issues? Guys hiding injuries? Check engine light on? These games against Calgary are critical. Need them both and in regulation.

Another angle if the Hawks decide they are sellers at the deadline would be putting Crow on LTIR and taking on a bad expiring contract for a contender that needs cap space. That could get the team back some missing picks in a draft that is supposed to be v deep this year. It would also give Crow more tie to heal (time being key with a head injury). |

What about trying to get Darling back if Car retains 50%? He played well here. I wonder if he's struggling because of the Car goalie coach and their scheme. |

Anisimov for a 1st
Wingels for a 3rd
Rutta for a 4th
Kempny for a 4th
Sharp for a conditional pick
Bouma for a 6th
Keith for a 1st, 2nd, and TOP prospect
Seabrook for cap space and a traffic cone
Hartman and 2nd for one of Carolina's young NHL Dmen (slavin??) - EnzoD
I appreciate the reason you'd trade Sharp, but considering his contributions to the three Cups (his is an original core) and his relatively low cap hit, allow the guy the dignity of retiring from the Hawks. It's what he wants (one reason he said he came back), and will happen after this year. That is, unless he is asking to go because of the benching. |

Saad hasn’t been finishing offensively but his possession numbers are off the chart good. Isn’t he like 4th in the NHL in CORSI or something? I can’t see them trading Saad unless there’s an insane return coming back (like as part of a trade for OTT’s Karlsson or something). |

If we fall out of the playoff hunt and CC is still struggling with his medical issues, just LTIR him. Zero reason to try and bring him back this year as the team is a dumpster fire. I wouldn't mind seeing if we could bring Darling back. He played well for us and is a hometown guy. Still want to see Q give Forsberg a heavy workload to see what he can do. |

The whole team has good Corsi numbers - third in the league - but then - why are they in last place, 3 games under “real .500” - with such inconsistent scoring? |

Never forget that it's money 1st and hockey 2nd. With that in mind I like your idea. By the time Crawford gets back and is up to speed it will be too late. A lot of cap space, take a horsepoop contract off someone's hands for some sweet picks/prospects and load up for the future. Won't help them collect playoff money early this year, but should help sell next years team and beyond. Would be a good investment. Good post. |

1. Toews is not that bad but he's not 10mm good.
2. Saad is not that bad but going through a slump.
3. With Panarin and Hossa first place. Without Panarin and Hossa last place. Not a coincidence. No cost other than player signing and payroll money 80 point guys don't come to your team very often. Second worst trade in Hawks history. We will suffer a long time. Minus our first class scouting staff and Dale Talon and Mike Smith IMO we would be in the cellar just about every year under disaster Bowman. |

What does first place really mean when you are swept out in the 1st round of the playoffs? Really, what does it mean? |

Great idea...Stan on board? If not he should be.
Which teams might need that type of deal?

"The Wild have given defenseman Mike Reilly’s agent (Pat Brisson) permission to talk to other teams about a trade, reports Michael Russo of The Athletic (subscription required). He notes that this permission may have been granted as much as two months ago although GM Chuck Fletcher declined to comment. For his part, Reilly confirmed that he has not asked for a deal.
It has been a bit of a rough season for the 24-year-old. He was shuttled back and forth between the NHL and the AHL in the early going as Minnesota looked to free up a bit of salary cap space. He has since become waiver-eligible but even then, he has had difficulty cracking the top six on the Wild’s back end and his game last night was his first since January 10th. With just eight points (all assists) in 32 games this season, Reilly likely wouldn’t yield much of a return but he’s certainly someone who could benefit from a change of scenery."

I remember in the summer of 2015 when a bunch of the Sorority Sisters on this board wanted desperately to sign this guy...

All players fall off a cliff at some point. Those are the ones you trade beforehand not big producers just beginning to reach their prime. This is what a good GM gets paid for. This is one of the primary skills required for the job. Anybody can come in off the street and be the kind of GM who overpays players for contracts that are way way too long. |

And Panarin was the only guy responsible and should be traded right? Double BS. Did you know he was tied for second on the team for scoring in the playoffs only one point behind Kane. So how many guys had NO POINTS? How many teammates below him? I suppose that shouldn't mean anything right? Everybody stunk except Kane and Panarin. Again, With Panarin first place. Without Panarin last place. Fact brother, live with it.

I think they are playing like what they are - an overall very inexperienced and inconsistent team. That possesses the puck a lot. what we’re seeing is what we’ve seen all year. Flashes of brilliance with no consistency. |

Also no Hjalmarsson and no Crawford for a large portion of the year. But yes, Bowman has sunk this team to the basement in almost no time. Need to get someone new to try and turn it around. |

I like his brother the RW in Ottawa even better. Competitive, physical, puts the puck in the net. I'd move a couple of pieces off the Hawks to get him. - RickJ
Did not realize Mark and Mike Stone were brothers....... Indeed, Mark is a helluva player and probably one of the most underrated and unknown multiple 60+ point players.

I remember seeing them but can't remember what they are called...but their dzone metrics are just the opposite...top 4 in dangerous chances against and SOG against...depending way to much on stand on head goalie play for wins...
they can't finish on one end and give up way to much on the other... |
