And Panarin was the only guy responsible and should be traded right? Double BS. Did you know he was tied for second on the team for scoring in the playoffs only one point behind Kane. So how many guys had NO POINTS? How many teammates below him? I suppose that shouldn't mean anything right? Everybody stunk except Kane and Panarin. Again, With Panarin first place. Without Panarin last place. Fact brother, live with it. - Savoy
you missed my point - 1st, or 8th. It doesn't matter. Don't get hung up on 1st place.

The whole team has good Corsi numbers - third in the league - but then - why are they in last place, 3 games under “real .500” - with such inconsistent scoring? - StLBravesFan
Because they can’t finish anymore, and their offensive possession numbers when put up against the eye test, prove without question that they play keep away around the perimeter with safe passes instead of driving the net for the ugly goals in the slot and the crease. Until one winger tries to pass to the other winger board to board through four defenders.....
They also often get caught with all three forwards below the dots, leaving an alarming number of odd man chances for the other team. Odd man chances that guys like our captain don’t backcheck hard enough on, leaving guys like Seabrook to cover guys who skate twice as fast as he does.
As for Panarin.....even if he were back it solves nothing. This is still a one line team - whatever line 88 is on.

I enjoy the entire season and I was proud that the Hawks finished first. For me the playoffs are just icing on the cake and not necessarily the be all end all to hockey. I understand and welcome your point of view and the point I wanted to make was that the notion that Panarin was traded because he had a poor playoff is silly propaganda. Just as ridiculous as saying they thought it important to trade an 80 point guy away because his contract expires two years down the road. This board used to be full of that kind of propaganda and fake accounts apparently born to agree with the BS. Seems like the fake posters are mostly gone now.

Not even a one line team when that line the way that line has defended.
"The Wild have given defenseman Mike Reilly’s agent (Pat Brisson) permission to talk to other teams about a trade, reports Michael Russo of The Athletic (subscription required). He notes that this permission may have been granted as much as two months ago although GM Chuck Fletcher declined to comment. For his part, Reilly confirmed that he has not asked for a deal.
It has been a bit of a rough season for the 24-year-old. He was shuttled back and forth between the NHL and the AHL in the early going as Minnesota looked to free up a bit of salary cap space. He has since become waiver-eligible but even then, he has had difficulty cracking the top six on the Wild’s back end and his game last night was his first since January 10th. With just eight points (all assists) in 32 games this season, Reilly likely wouldn’t yield much of a return but he’s certainly someone who could benefit from a change of scenery."

I remember in the summer of 2015 when a bunch of the Sorority Sisters on this board wanted desperately to sign this guy... - Katana777
Mike Reilly may not be a bad investment. Would he fit the new NHL dman style? Is he better, defensively, than some of our guys? Is he physical in his style of play? If you have answers - if you know about this player - then tell us, is he worth kicking the tires on? Is he worth an even exchange, one of our dmen for him?
Anybody watching the Sarnia and London Knights game? Saw the little blip on some players, I wish Bowman would focus on getting Keith TKACHUK’s kid, how was he doing at Boston university?
I certainly would love to have that blood lines playing for the Chicago Blackhawks after seeing the great career his dad had, and I like what his brother has to bring to the table, so I guess the Apple should not fall too far from the tree.
now there's a 3rd line for ya...sharpie sits again....as expected he may not survive the trade deadline...he may want to go somewhere else and waive that NTC
Blackhawks Update: Corey Crawford works out on the ice for the first time since suffering a head injury in December. Joel Quenneville said Crawford is expected to work out again on the ice Sunday. Encouraging development for the Hawks:

Hawks need to be sellers. Q's system is dictated by pace. The vets can't keep up to it anymore and the kids aren't there yet. Hopefully Stan is working the phones sooner than later. Anisimov and Hartman are the two headliners, IMO. Ruuta might fetch a middle round pick but won't get much of anything for Kempny. Wingels and Bouma are throw ins at best. Keith, though unlikely, would get a huge bundle back.

what an embarassment as a Hawk beat guy (I assume Potash is a Hawk beat guy). He writes Anton Forsberg has handled most of the goaltending duty in Crawford’s absence, but Jeff Glass — a Calgary native — will start tonight against the Flames.

Hasn't the goal tending been about 50/50? - glennjpawlak22
Is this what this board is coming down to, who really carer if its 50/50 53/47 or what ever. Jeez... Potash's articles are not what plagues this team...

If we only discussed what plagues this team...we’d all be on suicide watch.
Another angle if the Hawks decide they are sellers at the deadline would be putting Crow on LTIR and taking on a bad expiring contract for a contender that needs cap space. That could get the team back some missing picks in a draft that is supposed to be v deep this year. It would also give Crow more tie to heal (time being key with a head injury). - Marlowe
Now this is the kinda out of the box thinking the front office needs. .. Damn nice thinking indeed.
Just spit balling as I really don't want to trade him...but lets say Toews waives his no trade to go to the Jets to play in his hometown. Let's say Jets see Toews as a great deadline pickup for when they are in the playoffs this year.

What do you ask in return for him? - onehundredlevel
It will never happen, however, if we are spit balling, in a dream I would love Scheifele, even 1 for 1 and I'll even sweeten the deal.
I don't want little as he is to old. I think you ask for Eljers, which won't happen, and also Kristian Vesalainen as he looks like a very good prospect.
