I must've missed the deluge of comments saying the Sabres were going to be good this year.

I saw some that said they had hope they would be good this year, but hope and saying it will be so seems much different.

This collection of misfits sucks ass, they can’t figure out how to play two different systems from two different coaches. Too many low hockey IQ players, and 90% of them are playing at least 1 line/pairing too high for their talent level. Their is a serious need for 4-5 high-end skilled players more.

The coaches are in over their head, however I remain hopeful that they are learning on the fly. I like the premise of a up-tempo, North-South System playing as a 5 man unit. It is the right approach though, IMO.

This GM has not yet had the time to infuse the team with the right players to play in the system..hopefully that transitions takes place very soon with the TD looming close. Additionally, more moves in the offseason will be needed. JBotts needs to hit on trades and the draft.

I don't see why they're not. the current starter is average and will want a raise where he's already at 4M. That's probably not going to happen and it sounds like thy might be shopping Lehner.

Ullmark will be a start in his rookie season. Johnson won't be coming back. And, the next behind Ullmark, Johansson, is a few years away from even being considered for NHL duty.

If the still had Petersen things would be different, but right now, it looks like we're thin at the position.

30 years old in this league means diminishing returns unless the player a guy like Crosby. McDonaugh will be just like every other UFA at his age if traded for, big money, big term, failing production.

Eh. It’s more to get rid of Oreilly’s contract.

ROR is 27 in 4 days. They are two years apart and ROR has played 100 more regular season games. Their shelf life’s are similar
