He attempted a power move to the net, but lacked the speed to beat him wide and once engaged he lacked the strength to push Hamilton and get to the crease. He then circled the net and forced a slot pass where 4 Flames players were standing. The turnover from Toews ended up directly on the stick of the Flames' player who scored the 3rd and Game Winning empty net goal. Can we ban this troll? Justin you really need to get this guy a ban he is nothing but trolling EVERY Hawks fan here. GET THE (frank) OUT TROLL - EnzoD
Game winning goal was TRULY the 2-1 goal
Watch the game with your eyes open it might help
19 made a really good play & CAL made a better play
If it was 88 you would be crying
88 was again useless tonight |

It was similar to the Kane pass the other night and the Hawks all over committed. Seabrook didn't realize what was happening until too late and had no chance to get in the play as tired as he was. The team just can't get it done right now. The only thing I liked there was that they were finally showing more emotion about it. They need to be pissed off. |

If Q rreally has this team, he would have pulled the team off the ice after the BS GI call. There is no way they league can get away with that, especially after the 2 controversial calls earlier in the week that were called good goals.
Now, here is why I think there is something more than the fans know. He didn't get mad at that call. |

Jonathan Toews is not an impact player. He cannot create goals, he cannot get to the net, he cannot beat defenders 1v1, and he has not scored a goal in 11 games now. That is just another textbook example of a guy who is a key reason this team scores 2 goals a game. You can make excuses for Toews and Seabrook and anybody else, but that was a poor play and directly led to the Game Winning goal. The resident Kane troll needs to be banned bc I'm out. This place is awful when that maniac is around personally attacking everyone. See you all for the next loss. Top 10 pick looking like a lock. |

Pretty sad when good posters who actually contribute meaningful posts leave because of idiots. |

Toews (11), Saad (12), Anisimov (13) games without a goal - and you’re all over Kane?
I’d say your eyes have been closed since you got here. |

Amazing how the team goes 1 for 5 on the powerplay... In a must win game nobody stepped up except debrincat. It's truly sad to watch an AHL goalie keep it a 1-1 game and we cannot win. This core has battled through a lot worse and I hope there is some explanation at the end of season because none of this play all season makes sense. We use to have several players who would step up now. I am not sure what trade could fix this issue. |

This loss is tough to swallow! Those review calls really hurt the Hawks ... The Reffs were deffinitely not kind to the Hawks tonight. However , did the Hawks really play that great tonight ? I doesn't think so. This was a must win game for the Hawks and they played "Puff the Dragon". WTF happened to our 30 million dollar quartet? They were total no shows. How many quality shots did Toews, Kane Saad, Annisonov take tonight? The only player that had multiple quality shots on goal was DCat. This teams core players played like Shiite . I would trade em all , if I had my way. I would also give the "coach" the pink slip because he has lost control of the team. |

Don't say that here these guys think 88 played great tonight because he scored
That will get in a lot of heat here
Agreed the core did not get it done other than killing the 5 on 3
Valid point Spanky. THANK YOU

5 home games = 5 losses = 1 of 10 pts...and grand total of 7 goals
since the sen game they are 1-5-1 @ home with 10 goals
last 7 home games 19 and 20 have combined for...are you ready....0 point
pp = 3/19 the last 5 home games; 3-25 over the last 7 home games

Not making any excuse, just point out how similar it is. Toews isn't having a good year, but this season isn't all on him. Not one vet is playing up to their usual standard this season. You want to put it all on Toews, okay, go ahead. No offense, but ignoring the short comings and mistakes of the other players is wearing blinders. Even the Hawks terrible PP, hasn't really been any better when Toews is on the other unit. Toews isn't going to overpower players like you expect, that has never really been his thing most of the time, but he needs to start actually scoring when he gets a chance. He is young enough to get back on track like he was before the world cup of hockey. Whatever injury he took there seems to have been a turning point.
This team needs to improve on the blueline first and foremost and they need to seal up the defensive leaks. You can't win giving up the chances they do and the volume of attempts against. It is problem #1, because they won't outscore the weak defensive play. |

Well, fans from around the rest of the league thought for many years the commissioner's office favored the Blackhawks, maybe that is still true. But instead of having them win, the league office wants the Blackhawks to lose so they get a really high draft pick and have a good off season so they have a competitive team in the Winter Classic next year and then some good TV ratings for the 2019 playoffs. |

Not to give Goalie33 any support, but Kane (before tonite’s meaningless goal) hadn’t scored in 7 games, and has points in only 6 of his last 14 games.
No matter how Q tries to spin it, the leadership is providing no leadership to the young players. |

Totally agree. 2, 7, 10, 19, 20, 38 are all underperforming to expectations. Maybe even 88. 15 and 50 have been injured. The young D is, well, young and inexperienced and it shows. 8 and 12 have generally been good. 48, 64, and 91 showing promise. Not enough talent in their primes on this team. |

foley mentioned Q looking for a 7-1 type of run...RIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHT
actually this team might be ready for a complete implosion and 1-7...
they survived 2-1 vs the preds and then get 1 out of 6 pts vs the nucks and flames...very winnable games and other than the under 25 guys didn't show up...
up next to take their shot at burying the hawks: stars, wild, knights, ducks, caps and kings...and who know maybe the yotes will beat'em
7-1...
1-7... |

Rough loss tonight. Honestly, 7 points and 4 teams to leap frog is possible but appears unlikely with the way this team is going right now.
I want these guys to win but I also want these guys to get a top 5-7 pick.... can't have it both ways... which way are you leaning? |

I always maintain that last year was an aberration, masked by goalie wins, OT wins, and a lot of good luck. The team did not have far to fall and were badly exposed in the playoffs.
It's time to just admit the run is over and try to rebuild this thing best you can. Trouble is the bloated salaries for under performing players combined with no trade clauses will make it hard to move these guys. So what to do? Switch out young guys who ARE playing well simply because we are stuck with these overpaid vets?
The other worrisome thing is there is still a lot of work to do to get into position to draft a young elite talent (top 6 or so)....SIX teams in the East have fewer points and THREE teams in the West. So Hawks are 10th worse. They need to do better.
I think Buffalo, Ottawa, Arizona and Vancouver are gonna be hard to catch, but the Hawks are only 6 points away from being 5th lowest, which puts you right into position for a player like Tkachuk.
Season is over. Time to play the kids. Bring up Hayden, Highmore, Dalhstrom, see what they can do. Trade what you can for futures and start a new era. This one is done. |
