Would you be willing to pay the price to move Seabrook? If Bickell cost the team Teravainen what do you think it will cost to move Seabrook? I would think we're looking at DeBrincat, Jokiharju, or a 1st if we're a non-playoff team....maybe more. - DarthKane
I personally would not move any of the players that you mentioned, which would also make it difficult to move Seabrook. People have mentioned moving Kane too or Crawford (which I believe they mean included in a Seabrook deal?). I don't know what team could afford to take on all of that money.
I think I would move a first with Seabrook if that's what it took. I love Seabrook and wish he was playing better, but if moving his contract allows them to get better, then so be it. |

I don't see any of the core waiving their NMC. The the problem with Seabrook is that you will have to not only pay someone to take him, but he will also need to waive. I don't see him waiving to go to a non playoff team, and most playoff teams would value the salary cap space that Seabrook would take up, over the payment you would give them. He simply has too many years left for a team to gamble on the hope that he returns to form.
I think the best bet is to make some minor moves, and hope that missing the playoffs lights a fire under the majority of this team for next season. |

Seabrook not going anywhere, unless they eat half his contract. Due $9 mil this year and next year, ouch. No need to panic now and force a deal, we wait to see what the cba brings us. Hopefully Seabrook takes his training seriously this summer, and doesn't come into camp out of shape |

Agrred that is the KEY to all the moves because of BOWMAN contracts - Goalie-33
NMCs are a just a cost of doing business when re-signing or signing veteran players. Look around the league, almost all players eligible for NMCs get one of some variety. The only way to forgo a NMC is for a GM to pay a premium in the dollar value of the contract.
NMCs give the players some level of control, but it doesn't mean they can't be traded. |

We know who Bowman is. You don't need random caps. |

there is no hint or evidence from the season to date that this team is capable of putting run of say 9-1 or better...and with the schedule they have...whoa...alot would have to change for that to happen...i am not sure they could pull it off if craw came back tomorrow...its not about the netminding...
to paraphrase other comments:
to much youth which comes good ad alot of bad
another down season for toews
an awful season for saad
seabs is a clydesdale on ice
keith has been much better the last 6-7 games, but zero, zippo, nada offense from him
and of course the woeful pp which cost them momemtum, goals and points

A lot of people off after the post Super Bowl drunk fest, a lot of armchair trades,my man Goalie 33, probably none of that is what they are thinking, I wouldn’t doubt other than Patrick Kane that everybody could be had for the right price. I know they have in the back of their minds who they would like to keep , But you never know, especially if they have a shot if they do an all out Sell and retool, to get a top three pick this year. The big question, do you trust Stan Bowman to steer the ship? Would he actually draft Brady Tkachuk?Or would he draft some 5”2 pygmy from overseas? On another note, I think in the last five or six games the top six players have zero body checks thrown.
And you guys that like 82 and 42 and a couple of the other Blackhawk defenseman, their sticks just moved from right to left as the skate backwards like someone is turning the knob and pulling the rod And playing the Munro Bobby Hull table top hockey game. No contact whatsoever, I appreciate the transition game and defenseman to be able to get the puck up ice, but in their own zone they look like a Train wreck, avoiding contact at all cost. |

I hear you, but if had told me a year ago that Hjalmarsson would waive his NTC for Arizona I would have thought you were crazy. |

Which contracts do you think could have been signed without a NMC? It's easy to point fingers and blame Bowman, why not take it a step further and provide more details on what you think Stan should have done. Otherwise, you just come across as an uneducated complainer. |

You must be forgetting 2011 where they barely scraped in to the playoffs on the last day of the season and lost in the first round after they had to purge because of the cap. 2 years later, Cup. This revisionist history poop has got to go. - JRoenick97

Seabrook was miles better than Keith in the Calgary game. Keith was abysmal at stopping any poops at all and turned it over for the second goal against. Our 2 best D-men were Rutta and Gustafsson that game. |

The answer to the trivia question of last home playoff goal- Marian Hossa 4/23/16. Game 6 in a series Hocks would ultimately lose to the Blues in 7.
We all remember Pekka's 2 glorious shutouts in Game 1-2 as the 8th seeded Preds embarrassed the Hocks in a sweep.
When will Chicago next get a home playoff goal? -my guess is 2020. Can anyone see it happening sooner?? |
