Why would JT ever consider Buffalo....the organization has shown nothing other than the ability to spin its tires in the past 4 to 5 years (probably longer). If I was JT I wouldn't even pick up the phone call from Botts.

So Jack and JT run around trying to score a combined 300 goals to offset the 250 goals that we'll give up with an incompetent 3rd and 4th line and only 2 good defensemen? Yes we have middlestat and nylander in the pipeline...but they have not proven themselves on the NHL level yet.

Look, I want JT in a Buffalo uniform as much as anyone. Given how absolutely awful we are outside of Jack, he'd be crazy to come here. At best all he could hope for is more of the "race to 8th" that he is getting with the Isles right now.

Sabres are scouting the caps pretty heavy.

Trading for an A+ NHL guy like Karlsson would be 1 step forward, 2 steps back. We address one issue with this team while neglecting two other issues that could be remedied by the assets (picks/prospects) that we had to trade away.

Signing an A+ NHL guy like JT would have the same effect (only felt through the cap).

Get the A- guys to put with Jack and fill out the rest of the team with B's and B+'s that have up-sides.

If they were easy to find they wouldn't be hidden...or gems for that matter.

Bailey looks like he's way above the AHL level when I watch the Amerks games fwiw.
