Yea, but you can get a good look at a butchers ass by sticking your head up it, but wouldn’t you rather just take the cows word for it?

In an October radio interview, Browns consultant Scot McCloughan revealed that he rated Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield as the top quarterback in the 2018 draft.

McCloughan's front-office career began in Green Bay with Brett Favre. "He reminds me of a shorter version of Brett Favre," McCloughan said. "Tough guy. He can throw it. And he's very confident, and he's not afraid whatsoever, whatsoever. He's a battler. I know saying Brett Favre's a big name, and I was around him for a while, but this guy (Mayfield) has talent." Per the Cleveland Plain Dealer, "word circulated at the Senior Bowl last month" that McCloughan was "talking up Mayfield" to new Browns GM John Dorsey.

Ok so my car is worth 10,000 2 moinths ago

I am asking 12,000
A few people call, I raise the price to 15,000

Just because I ask for more money, doesn't mean it's worth more. Yes it does

Then the cars paint starts to fade the past 2 months after it was looking sharp.

The 10,000 value didn't go up because I asked more.

If anything it went down, because less people now like the look of the car.

Get it now?

- Boss34

How do you know less people like the look of the car? How many people liked it before?

Or:

The north buffalo housing market is booming.

Everyone likes to purchase homes in the spring- the nhl trade deadline

I list a house for way more than its worth.-kane

Everyone wants to live in north buffalo and get excited when a new home is listed

Everyone takes a look at the house, but it doesn't show well in person. - Kane in person

I raise the price - supposedly what jbotts did

How does that change the actual value of the home?

It doesn't. The home is worth what someone is willing to pay. Not what the asking price is.

Now more nicer houses are on the market. How is the value UP

Get it yet?

The same guy that says kirk cousins is nothing special

But I agree Mayfield is going to be good but that's only if his head does not get to big like Johnny football

I doubt the Browns take him at 1
I could see them grabbing him 4th though

True story, Robin Lehner has a better quality start percentage over his career than Quick. .573 to Quick's .554. For reference Price is .582 and Lundqvist is .604. He also has far fewer really bad starts 24 in 205 games where Quick has 74 in 532 games. Lundqvist is also about 1 in every 10 games at 76 in 786 games.

But I forgot Lehner is just awful.

No, u won’t listen

SUPPLY & DEMAND determine a player’s “value” much more than a hot or cold streak of a few games

Why did Botts raise his asking price for Kane if his value was down?
That would be dumb
Botts doesn’t strike me as a dumb guy

You're also speculating that he didn't receive a few offers that enticed him to raise the price. That's the problem here. There's way too much speculation to know anything for sure.

Somewhat tangentially related is that many people try and compare real life to sports. It doesn't work. In what other job can a kid 2 years into his job walk into the owner's office and say "fire my boss, he won't let me do my job the way I want to do my job. Oh and I want to make more than 99% of the league." and not get a) fired on the spot or b) laughed out of the office or c) all of the above?

Or in a more general sense that the workers have the leverage over management?

Not saying that at all. Quick is obviously better, but he's also quite volatile. It's easy to get to him and get him off his game(something people claim about Lehner and that's why he's bad, or at least a main reason).

Just once again showing that Lehner is an average NHL goalie. Goes as the team goes.

I agree
Like i say here all the time...
ppl are WAY over-exaggerating how bad Lehner really is

That said...
i don’t think he’s our franchise goalie
I wouldn’t hate if he’s back next year,
but i think we should at least be looking at other options

Me neither. If he and Ullmark split starts with Ullmark getting a few more, that's great, especially if the Sabres are only getting a 2nd for Lehner. Now if a team wants to give up Jack's future winger plus a 2nd...

He’s not my first choice...
but we do need someone competent to at least split time with Ullmark

If we don’t see Lehner as the future though,
then it does make sense to try & move him for an asset
I think we should be able to get a 2nd for him

I doubt we get that kind of return for Lehner

Thing is...
if Botts doesn’t see Lehner as our starter going forward, then it makes sense to move him for whatever asset we can get

Can always bring in another goalie to split time with Ullmark

Sounds good for a 2nd. He just couldn't compete with the goals scored vs goas against.

So if he moves lehner and doesn't feel that he's are starter moving forward, does that mean he doesn't like him at all or likes what he's being offered?
Can it be both?

That's right , your the guy that says that gms have been watching Kane for 9 years. It doesn't matter if he scored 2 times in 20 plus games or not.
All gms know what he is. It doesn't matter if a player is hot or not. Gms are stupid and should be fired if they let his current play influence their opinions.

Also WRONG

Back on the lehner Train again too?
Could it be that he's playing better again?

Shouldn't your opinion be based on his whole body of work in the nhl. That's the way nhl gms base their opinions. Not just the past 4 games or so.

So Emilia Clarke is in the new Star Wars movie, huh?

The Mother of Dragons riding shotgun with the Galaxy's most popular smuggler should be an interesting dynamic.
