So if he moves lehner and doesn't feel that he's are starter moving forward, does that mean he doesn't like him at all or likes what he's being offered?
Can it be both? - Boss34
Yeah, i guess it can be both
Heck...
he might love Lehner but get such a good offer he decides to move him anyways
I doubt that’s the case though
And i have zero clue how Botts feels about him
I was just saying how i felt |

I think he really likes ullmark. (Who knows)
The fact that he traded the pick to lv to keep him
Wonder if lehner and his 4 plus million contract is the right spot to split time or back up a rookie.
That's why getting another good young goalie makes sense to me. Let the young guys earn their starts.
That's jbotts formula

Trade Lehner for a 2nd (if you can). Give Ulmark 40 games next year with "veteran X" who is a free agent. Lehner will be looking at $5 million per season. I would rather spend that on a good d-man or top 6 winger.

I agree with you, but why not add another young guy in net? If either young guy shows upside, you might take a run at the playoffs
Or
If they both suck, pickiing early again.
Ullmark does look promising |

Yeah, i could see that
Makes sense
He might want to bring in someone with more experience though to help guide Ullmark along as well |

Is there any used car sale or delapadated residential real estate shows on?
I need to find the true value of our players and clearly those shows will help in doing so. |

E tu Brute - Boss34
I worked hard today, came home, showered, ate and then grabbed a beer to back read ... was a very interesting day on here ... of course certain posts were deleted so harder to piece it all together.
Anyway, the back and forth was rather epic, but honestly I’m pretty tired and don5 feel like arguing.
The Kane situation is rather intriguing as there are so many factors to be considered, it is hard to say what the true market value for him is really, it is confusing. I’m done arguing one side or the other.
It makes sense that his value would have taken a hit given his lack of production recently.
On the other hand, the pundits keep talking like his value has gone up by virtue of the lack of competition and as many as 6 teams interested.
I have now taken the approach I am just going to wait and see and not get wrapped around the axle.
Now, no olives on pizza ... heresy I tell ya, would have to fight those who are disgusted by it, lol. And for that matter, green olives in egg salad is a must. |

That's right , your the guy that says that gms have been watching Kane for 9 years. It doesn't matter if he scored 2 times in 20 plus games or not.
All gms know what he is. It doesn't matter if a player is hot or not. Gms are stupid and should be fired if they let his current play influence their opinions.
Also WRONG
Back on the lehner Train again too?
Could it be that he's playing better again?
Shouldn't your opinion be based on his whole body of work in the nhl. That's the way nhl gms base their opinions. Not just the past 4 games or so. - Boss34
First of all, wow. Holy misrepresentation. I never speak in black and white. Ever. Except when saying I don't speak in black and white. I never once said "it doesn't matter that he hasn't scored in 20 games." I said it doesn't necessarily tank his value if there are multiple bidders. And if a GM SOLELY uses current play to make a decision they are stupid and deserve to be fired. Only a moron uses 20 games when there's a 500+ game sample size to make a decision.
I've always been on the Lehner "train", if by train you mean I think he's an average NHL goaltender.
I don't swing wildly based on a few games play. |

I don't think the offer is relevant here. If he doesn't trade him, he either has to give him a multi-year extension or most likely go to arbitration. If it goes there, Lehner is probably asking 5.5-6m. I can't imagine JB wants that situation to play out.

Idk...
Botts might not see Lehner as the long term answer,
but also not see a better plan for the short term
In that case,
Maybe it will go to arbitration?
Botts can then ask for a 1 or 2 year award
And Lehner would be UFA after |

I know Sbroads would jump at this deal,
but for those who don’t think Sam is a waste & that Risto is a top pair guy...
Would u trade those 2 for Erik Karlsson?
Think that’s enough for Ottawa to pull the trigger?
Karlsson will be 29 when his next deal starts
And I’m guessing we’d have to give him something like 8yrs x 10mil per |

Perhaps if they weren't in the same division. I would think that would make the price a little higher.
Kane should just about do it.... |

I give JB more credit than that. He seems too smart to want to go year to year with Lehner all the way to UFA. This has ugly arbitration dispute written all over it, and I don't think he wants to go there. He's seen more than enough of Lehner to make a long term call. If it's not him, then he gets dealt for the best offer now or after the season. If it's him, then he's not going to get an offer that's too much to say no to.

Not close. You'd have to add Mittlestadt or this years first.

Meh
If it happens, I’d probably see it
If it doesn’t, i won’t miss it
The movie that should’ve had a sequel was Labrynth (while Bowie was still alive)
That would’ve been dope |
