His F/O directly resulted in Eichel's goal last night

He's also second in goals on the team and will finish with at least 20 goals for the 4th time in 5 seasons.

Somehow that's a problem?

I will never understand this board's fascination with trying to tear ROR down. 5 posts about his gaffe last night and 1 about his goal, which many here would label "clutch" if Eichel had scored it.

There are many on this board who are hoping for him to fail

Edit: sry,3rd. 1 behind Kane

- jcragcrumple

He’s awesome dude. They are losing because of the bottom 6.

Not because Kane hasn’t scored in 2018 and Ryan O’Reilly who plays 33% of the time cannot do anything offensively when the other team has the same amount of guys on the ice.

I am done arguing this point.

Score well 5 on 5. Win a lot. Pay guys who can’t score 5 on 5, and play them a ton (Risto, Reinhart, ROR, Okposo) and lose a lot.

I don’t know what else to say

If we do win then we can trade Ristolainen and get The depth Pieces we need to get this thing in the right direction
- GERBE!!!75PTS

If he's not that good, what kind of quality return is he going to bring, or are you ok with a partial salary dump when trading him?

There's one way to find the 3rd component

It involves losing and picking high again in 2019

- Boss34

Yes sir, that's most likely what is going to happen.

I'll tell you why. Because Tim Murray traded for him and some can't forgive Murray, or let ANYONE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH forget that Murray wasn't a success here.
- Powerslave

It's gross. He's one of the 3 good players on this team, but he's the reason they suck to hear many tell it.

Yes. Him playing 20 min a night is a reason we aren’t good.

He’s overpaid and over played

Simple explanation: if he made $3M annually, people would be very happy. If he made $5M, they would be fine with him. He makes $7.5M long term, hence the complaints.

I’m hoping he Builds through the draft trades for young prospects

I’m done rushing this thing if it takes another three years so be it

- GERBE!!!75PTS

3 more years?
That would be rough.

Why not build around

Eichel, ror okposo, risto, guhle, Casey, ullmark, 2018 pick

Thats 8 out of 20 guys right there.

Add 2-4 out of these guys

Silent Sam
Nylander
Mccacbe
Scandella
Anitipn
Bailey
Fashing
Babatiste
Cj
Larson
Girgs
Erod

Keep Wilson as the #16 forward. He has proven to be able to win a cup in that position.

He's almost the surest bet on the sabres.

So now your at 12 core guys.
Just need 8 more

Trading them, meaning the 4 you always talk about, is the only solution.

What are you going to get for them of quality?

I ask because they are all supporting players, and if you know that, every team in the league also knows that.

Are you looking at lateral moves, a salary dump, or both?

Isn't part of the reason the Leafs were good last year because they had young players that played well and they had vets that were decent as well?

They are both that good?

Also, if Buffalo picks 2 or 3, I wouldn't take either of them over the two wingers, from everything I have read about them.

- kingcong39

I mean, they are obviously not dahlin good but we're still talking about high end talent. They would most likely be the best d-man on the team by a huge margin

I'm not so sure based on your viewpoint. He'd have to score a lot 5v5 for you to seemingly be happy with him, but you also like to be a bargain shopper with players unless they are super obvious to pay like Jack.

Would you take them over one of the top 2 forwards with the 2nd or 3rd pick?

I’m actually pretty sure, because that’s literally what I posted. I’d be fine if he scored 5 on 5, he’d be worth it.

I hope Hughes' falls in the draft rankings thanks to morons obsessed with height and we can move up(or in) to get him

16 pts in 25 games freshman year with Michigan.

eh, probably not. but this would be the kind of scenario where you'd entertain some sort of trade down, like the one murray was discussing at the 2014 draft.

Get an extra 2nd rounder and still grab a guy you really want.

Boqvist might go top 3 but there's very little info/viewing on him other than scouts words

Those top 2 wingers sure seem to fill a dire need of the team, and I understand the defense needs help, but getting one of those two wingers would sure seem like a big help to Jack on his line, and quickly.

How Pominville has not been benched yet blows my mind

He helps us lose with dignity.

There's no way pommer gets a healthy scratch

He's doing exactly what he was brought in to do.

not saying it wouldn't, just an extra option to consider. They'll probably have another shot to grab a d-man top 10 next year.

He’s a 3rd liner, producing like a 3rd liner.

Saying our bottom 6 is the worst is factually incorrect

I generally agree with you.

This team is horrible :

Ror is on pace for 25 goals
All goals look the same on the scoresheet. Pp, sh and 5x5.

Ror maybe making between 1-1.5 million per year too much . That's the price of being buffalo.

We also look like we have up too much.
Jt compter and zardarov look good.

He's a top 40 center in the nhl. Including the intangibles
In my opinion

not sure, Merkley fell after his character was questioned so 50/50 there. Noah Dobson is one of those out of nowhere risers so buyer beware as well. Ty smith and Bode Wilde are supposed to be good though.

I wouldn't say there are "many" but the top 3 or 4 kinda remind of 2015 and Id take any of those guys in a heartbeat

Only way I would move him right now is for a young center in return and who is doing that?

I would love a O’Reilly Kane combo to Carolina for Lindholm and fluery or beane but would never happen.

I swear I remember reading you saying this draft was loaded, but maybe you're talking about D men only with the above and it is loaded with quality players of all positions.
