am of the opinion that it's a tad early to be thinking things like that...he could very well be with the Sabres after the Minnesota season ends - Michael Pachla
This is a good post.
Casey will be in Buffalo then Rochester this year.
Any chance Miller signs here next year?
I know his family is in California, but next year could be his last. I still think the sabres trade for another good young goalie before the start of nest year.
But for the -add a veteran croud- Miller has the jbotts, pommer, vanek connection.
Oh yeah, vanek signs here in July .
Book it

If we hope to sign a single season ticket holder back up then please bring Casey on board to end the season. Something actually worth watching and to look forward to. |

have always thought that a quarterback without a team around him is destined to fail in most circumstances...
bills need way too much to sell the farm for a potential starting quarterback...and that was even before the eric wood news - Michael Pachla
4 possible starters are equally important as a franchise qb. Assuming it takes (2) 1sts to move to 6 , then a 2nd and possibly a 5th to move up more .
There's a good debate waiting to happen.
Dt, lb, in the first
Wr in the 2nd
Rb in the 5th
Or
Mayfield/Allen
We are so starved at qb, but I agree with Michael, we have so many needs.
Maybe take Glenn instead of a first rounder?

Sure, but wild card spots were available
And it’s not like we didn’t have good running backs for pretty much that entire time
Top10, even top5 defenses some of those years as well
WRs have been pretty decent for the most part
QB has been the one constant we were missing
If u wanna win consistently in today’s nfl...
get a franchise qb
Of course, u have to build around him
But without that QB,
your chances are less likely to get where we wanna go - jdfitz77
1st round busts and bad/ timid coaching rank up there too. Really drafting in general has been the problem. Including qb
Ej fits the bill

FWIW I think to move up to a top5 pick you're talking 3 or more 1st rounders. The two we have, next year's first and maybe more. I believe it was 3 1sts and a 2nd from Washington when they moved up to get RGIII. |

Thats a great point too.
They need to sell something to the fans. As a season ticket holder, that's the only thing I'm looking forward too.

At some point I heard the NFL formula had our 20th and 21st worth the 6th pick.
So maybe add another 1st, to move up a bit more.

the pats represented two annual losses for the bills...that means that they would need to go 10-4 almost every year to make the playoffs

Was going to say I don't know what number the Redskins picks were so may not be apples to apples. Perhaps you're right, just worried about a thin team giving up 3 1sts. It's a quandary. |

I would give up the two 1st this year and next years 1st for 1st or 2nd overall, but not for Mayfield at 5 |

I'm leaning towards keeping the picks, we so desperately need a franchise qb though.
I'm a little more confident in the new regime hitting on these picks too. I thought last year's draft was the best in years.
I think in the back of pegulas mind, we need a star at qb, then we get the public behind a new downtown stadium. |

Are you not excited by the lines tonight? I'm genuinely curious why Housley seems to hate Pouliot. It should be clear, even to a casual fan, that he is far superior to 28.
Fire up the tank train. Let's get cracking on some trades |

He's always in the damn dog house, but he's also the only winger who can score without Eichel. Were they afraid of getting him paid by putting him there? |

Haha! I doubt it but I don't have the same hate for the Sabres like most Buffalo fans have for the Leafs. Teams I Hate the most are the Rangers, Habs, Ducks, Canucks and the Golden Knights! Not sure why so fast but yeah, I hate the Golden Knights! |

True, but they are stuck cap wise either way. - SABRES 89
Why I would be in the minority but I would love next year to be the “tank” year. Trade both our firsts this year for 1sts next year and 3rd round picks this year.
Trade McCoy. Trade Glenn. Trade Tyrod. Trade Hughes. Take all the cap penalties now.
Finish last and have two other first round picks. Have a lot of cap space.
Draft your young QB with a lot of other young talent around him. (White, 2nd and 3rd rd picks this year, two other 1sts next year and high 2nd) |

Not to mention that there were years where the offense was top 10 and the defense was bottom 5 thanks to you know bad drafting, constant coaching changes, who implemented bad schemes (like going to the 3-4 when you had a team full of 4-3 players) and now in the process of trying to get more 4-3 players which leaves this team with a ton of needs.
They do need a QB however I don't think they should give up the farm to move up for a QB this year.
I would still draft one in the 2nd round though.
Try to sign Keenum, Stafford, or Bridgewater.

Sometimes you get an English degree and end up in the construction industry. There are not as many Lord Byron admirers in the trades as you might imagine - jcragcrumple

On Miller...
very doubtful he’ll be here
Like u said, his family is in Cali
That’s a bit more important than those connections u mention
Also,
He’s playing well
So you’d think that Anaheim would want him back
And even if for some weird reason they didn’t, I’d assume Miller is chasing a Cup at this point
That eliminates Buffalo
Along those same lines...
Vanek is playing well too
He will also have better options than Buffalo
If they were having mediocre seasons,
then i could see a fit
But since they’re still playing at a good level, i don’t think the Dabres will be on either player’s radar |
