Everyone is getting a first at the deadline

Kane = 1st
Patches = 1st
Nash = 1st
Green = 1st
Grabner = 1st
Maroon = 1st

This market is crazy saturated, and I bet two 1st round picks get traded at the most.

- classic321

it's a good point. i think there may be 3-4 teams willing to move a first.

but it's going to a bit of game of musical chairs ... and some gm's are going to be left standing.

12 teams to trade to.

Likely not all will have a need for Nash.

Good luck getting that Kings ransom! Rangers don’t hold the cards in this one.

Wherever he goes, he won’t have to be the guy. He will be a solid addition and I think will do well. As Rangers fans, we get on him because here he is supposed to be the guy and paid as if...but as we all know, he ain’t the guy.
- Blueshirts16

Absolutely...but you don't give up what the Rangers are reported to be asking for him.
He's now a top nine guy who could move up to a top six role in a pinch. Both Kane and Pacioretty offer much more

really? decline?

Nash last scored 30 goals in 2010-11. Pacioretty has scored 30 or more in 5 of last 6 years including the last 4 years in a row. i think Nash is the player in decline.

Any GM who gives a 1st for this poor persons power forward should be fired, then tarred and feathered.

Maroon isn’t going anywhere. Chia will extend him with a 4 year 20 mill deal.

I would take Nash over Kane any day. Better two player and locker room guy. The Rangers will eat half his cap hit as well. Patches now is the better player, but some people like the idea of not being locked into Nash. Please see the returns for Hanzal and Ladd. Both worse than Nash.
- nyrangers2

I am not sure these rangers fans watch hockey games. Nash a better two way player then Kane. Talk about homer. Come on kane is one of the faster players in the league will hit anything that moves, can fight anyone in the league ( and win), play PK, One of the highest scoring even strength players in league over last couple seasons. No team in NHL would take Nash over Kane for a long playoff stretch. I cant see anyone trading a first for Nash even if rangers take half is salary it will still cost a team 4.1 million. They would have to take player back.

I mean look, I think Nash is the better of Kane and Pac. He’s got a great two-way game with the added bonus of offensive ability.

That being said, because of limited teams to talk to and the amount of other rentals, I think the Rangers get less than MTL or BUF.

Not always. Look at what TBay got for MSL and he had one team on his list.

That was a unique situation where both teams had a player the other wanted. Not saying that can’t happen, but that was a bit unique.

You guys do know it is 2018 not 2011. In what universe is nash better then kane or Pac. How can you say he is better but it will cost less to get him. You are an idiot. No one pay more then second for nash. He is to slow, doesnt produce on powerplay, he is 35 and was never a playoff producer. Why would anyone want him. And if anyone says anything about his two way play, it just makes you look like an idiot.

For a rental...I would take Nash over those guys any day. Gurantedd, if they all get traded...Nash will produce more than them.

Signing long term is another story.

For 7.8mill....yes...Nash production doesn't reflect that, but for a rental, w/ most if not all of his remaining salary being pciked up by NYR, and then plugging him into a 2nd line role on a team who is playoff or stanley cup bound.......He's worth a 1st

You are an idiot. 0% chance. Also Kane does more then just produce points for team, espically in playoffs. He is physical, hard to play against and way better TWO WAY PLAYER. kane will double nash point out when they get traded. nash will play on third line of a playoff team and kane and Pac will play on top two lines.

On most nights, he is more noticeable on the ice on both teams. He will end up w/ 25 goals this year, on a team that doesn't have any 1st line players.

You forgot one thing.......Kane is a self absorbed nut job who is hated by most of his teamates, and will be on his third team in 4 years.

LOL Nash is not slow, by any means.

Can he score like Pac or Kane? I would say he’s not as consistent as them, but his all around game is superior to those guys.
