As someone who grew up in Western NY, and who's siblings are all Sabres fans, not so sure tanking for a high draft pick will result in success. - Jance
Full rebuilds are gonna go away just like the NFL. It's gonna be retooling on the fly and filling in with young, fast guys. A la the Pens. |

As far as production for and against goes, gustafsson was our best D-man last night. He was out for 24 shots attempts (13 on net) for vs 12 (6 on net) against. no goals agianst. 15 scoring chances for, 4 against. 6 high danger shots for, and allowed 0. He was also not sheltered at all. 5 offensive zone, 5 neutral, and 4 defensive zone starts. - JRoenick97

Toews is your 2C now making elite 1C level money for infinity - he's also all over every Blackhawks branding since 2006 so he is not going anywhere.
Seabrook is a 4 or 5 D now making 1D money. While he could be moved, his contract would cost the Blackhawks significantly in the way of a first round pick and probably a prospect with little coming back. He's not going anywhere.
Keith is movable. His contract to style of play makes sense and he brings a good game still with leadership, at a sellers deadline, he would get you a first round pick and prospect IMO. Hawks have to consider moving him.
Crawford- if he's health he's very good at a good cap hit, if there is a market for goalies at the deadline and he comes back here soon performing at a high level then you have to move him because he gets you a first round pick and decent prospect.
AA - see you later. He probably gets you a 2nd rounder and prospect.
Sharp- gets a bag of pucks.
Bouma, Wingels, Kempny - get you 3rd rounders
Hartman - He has value, I think he could get a 2nd coming back.
All in all, the core pieces that could get moved are Seabrook and Keith. You're dreaming otherwise. If I am Stan, I'm moving Crawford for a first and then packaging up one the Blackhawks first rounders with a guy like Fortin or eating 2 million for the first few years to anyone willing to take Seabrook. In return I am asking for a D prospect who hasn't live up to potential.
Oh, and this assumes all of these pylons are willing to waive.

The biggest issue for the Hawks this year, quite frankly, has been the biggest issue for a number of years. Should Q be fired? Should the coaching staff be fired? The answer has been yes for a number of years. The Pens changed coaches and won 2 Cups. The Pens looked old and uninterested at the time of the coaching change. ALL other teams have head coaches who have been around far less than Q. ALL of them.
My fear is that the Hawks will blame players and move players in panic. I do not want Saad moved. I do not want Murphy moved. I do not want Hartman moved. These are wonderful players. It is not Saad’s fault that he couldn’t jumpstart weak kale eating Toews. Saad could only do so much. Saad couldn’t make Toews stronger and tougher when Toews had chosen to be a weakling, while the older Crosby looks like a peak conditioned tank.
The key 3 D should have been Keith, Seabrook and Murphy from the beginning. Instead Murphy has been treated like garbage by the coaching staff. Playing in front of Murphy are incredibly weak, non-physical D-Men like Oesterle and Rutta - awful D-Men.
The team has been given no chance to create consistency, to create confidence. I wish the Hawks had the nads to fire the coaching staff right now.

Core for the season:
20 terrible
19 no jump = bad
7 awful
2 average
88 average
Goalies have been good ebough to win games
Bowmn has failed & time to go
Kane plays more PP than just about any player in the League & has "3" PP goals all year = horrid PP
Let Hino & Cat hang out at Red line for a season & see the numbers go way up
Plus all you who want a new Coach remeber he might let 88 float around at center ice waiting for others to get him the puck. Just a thought.
Carry on Enzo.....

Unfortunately the NHL abolished compensation for team executives.
We could have gotten our 2nd pick back for Q. |

This board has become the focal point of Captain Obvious. How many times do we need to be reminded 19,7,2 and a few others are overpaid and suck? I know I got it about 10,000 posts ago. Hell even Q got it and said so today in not so many words.
Its not going to change and only get worse so please please please spare us posts that start with crap like 10.5 million reasons or some other non sense. Its tired and played out.

yep began to notice that after the wings loss before the break...
nobody wants to pay 150 bucks for 300 level seat anymore to watch to team play .500 @ home and go 1-6-1 in its last 8 home games - bogiedoc
Or $241.25 per seat for 100 level !! That is ridiculous and if there's another price increase coming.......... ADIOS !!

Since the Core has been fine LOL. how about these lines.
SAAD-TEOWS-KANE
CAT-SCH-DUKE
HART-AA-WINGELS -after TDL Sikura, Hart, hayden after wingels and AA are traded.
JURCO-KAMPF-HINO
Keith-SEAB
OST-MURPH
KEMP RUTTA
If the core has been so good then let them play together and stop having to carry everybody else. - kmw4631
Q will never bash his 3 CUP winning CORE guys but I'm sure he sees what everybody else does. At least I hope his eyes are open. I'd be in favor of your lines just to see how they perform together. Toews and Kane together might be comical since 88 will be the only one that will ever have the puck. Saad will be doing fly-bys and 19 will be fallen on the ice or complaining to the zebras.

I agree with most all of what you said. I'd move pieces willingly to rid of Seabrooks contract.
Say Seabs, Kempny and someone like Highmore to Leafs for Hainsey and a 6th. Its a pure cap dump, but i'd take the cap space in 2019 over seabs right now. Could maybe even flip Hainsey for a 4th of his own.
But as I see it... Seabs, AA, Bouma, Wingles, Sharp, Jurco, Hino, are all for sale. For the record I like Hino, but we have other guys who can replace, so if he can be moved for D or in a bigger deal, hes not untouchable.
I'd only say 19, 88, 20, 8, 50, DCat are untouchable to me. |

WOW.........thanks for the info. What a management staff huh ?
2 First round exits and a missed playoff appearance in the last 3 years and they have the nerve to increase prices again ??
So much for the thank you to all the die-hards for the past 3/4/5 decades. I guess they're looking to move out the old fans and bring in the new ones that can shell-out that kind of dough.
Thank You for the 3 CUPS, it was a fantastic run.

I'd say that's being generous, 4C (or 13th forward) in Indy is more realistic. |
