Interesting to see if in all those years they skipped on someone who became a legit superstar.

I agree, but no one around here seems to think he’s bad defensively.

Andersson finishes with goal and 2 assists on day

not sure if Chytil had more points besides his goal

I'm assuming you are referencing Tarasenko. While he is definitely a top talent I was talking more about players that are retired now. Not sure Tarasenko gets a superstar label yet. Still has a long career ahead

I hate when you do that. You are being hyperbolic. No one? Really? Only you?

Well he doesn't, so your whole premise is wrong..

Columbus would be interesting, Nash was good under Torts the brief time they were together

Go back and look at my comments about Shattenkirk. When I thought it would be 7 years/7 million approximately, I was totally opposed, partly because the guy is not a great defender, and partly because I though the deal would be come a late term albratross. I came around to being ok with at the four year figure, but I was never under any illusions that he was a good defensive defensemen. That being said, I was hoping that other guys could provide that.

I am just saying that a lot of people did not think he was a great defensemen, but were willing to take the chance because of his offensive ability.

I think that was the consensus here on the board. Pair Shat with Mac or another defensive D, unfortunately didn't turn out so well.

Shatt was hurt all year and playing through it

impossible to evaluate what we have in this guy

Because I have Sergei Gonchar on my mind, I am going to say something like that is what we have.

a lot of the really awful stuff he did this year though was his giveaways

61 giveaways in 46 games

he never had over 42 in an entire season

61 is a crazy amount for half a season of games

if he's 100% healthy, I don't think he'll be nearly that bad next year

I say this with all due respect, and I mean all due respect, who (frank)ing cares? Let's move on to the things you are going to be female doging about next year that did or didn't happen.

I will say it for the millionth time, if anyone thought we were getting a shutdown defenseman in Shattenkirk i'm betting 100% that person ate way too much paste growing up
