I say this with all due respect, and I mean all due respect, who (frank)ing cares? Let's move on to the things you are going to be female doging about next year that did or didn't happen.

Rangers shouldve gotten dumba and Coyle two years ago. You heard it right here, this very second, first! |

Don't know if this was already posted. Nothing really new, but some pundit guessing. - Pete V
It's from ESPN...does that mean anything anymore these days? |

I think this team would have been much better off acquiring a top pair shutdown RHD to play with McD over getting another guy that is subpar on defense. The things I talk about are things you guys just aren't ready to face reality yet over. But I agree, let's talk about trading McD now - nyrangers9479
Yes I remember all those UFA's that were top pairing shutdown defenseman on the right side that we passed on. Also all the teams that wanted to get rid of their top pairing right side defenseman. |

Oh god, the top pair shutdown RHD would have cost a poop down of assets. Therefore, the signing of Staal and the acquisition of said RHD shut down defensemen isn't a fair comparison. Hey, let me try this, I would have preferred Karlsson, Doughty, Subban, Jones, etc. over Shattenkirk. I am kind of pissed that didn't happen, and pissed that you guys are too (frank)ing stupid to realize that those one of those guys, hell, make it a couple wasn't the way to go.
I also think we need an elite generational center, but you mother (frank)ers settled on David Deharnais. Idiots. I told you that Crosby or McDavid and in the absolute worst (frank)ing case Malkin was the way to go.
I don't even know why I even bother talking to you dotards anymore. If you just listened to me, we could be rolling with Karlsson and McDavid and winning the damn Cup this year.
In closing, you are all a bunch of idiots.

I'm assuming you are referencing Tarasenko. While he is definitely a top talent I was talking more about players that are retired now. Not sure Tarasenko gets a superstar label yet. Still has a long career ahead - mdw7413
Since Tarasenko entered the league, he's 9th in goals scoared. Idk if he's a superstar, probably not. But he's an elite goal scorer. |

Trade? No? Those don't happen anymore?

Not trying to get into this again so how about we leave it at this offseason let's try and use some assets we get and try and get a top pair RHD. |

I think the point is the Rangers don't have the assets to acquire a top pair RH defensemen without gutting the system. |

You are unrealistic about the supply of right handed shutdown defensemen that are available in trades. Those guys are like gold, gold I say.

I'll give you Weber for Subban. Sub the Rangers into that trade who are they giving up and what is coming back, Weber or Subban?

Before Chytil and Andersson got here, they was only Buchnevich and Shestorkin to gut. One is a brittle, yet skilled player and one may never plat a game in the NHL. Happy tank folks. |

Sounds good to me. We need an elite center as well. Give me those two things, and I'll be happier than a pig in poop. Start with Tavares.

Do you realize what it would take to get a right side top pairing guy in a trade? Nevermind the fact you have to find a team that wants to get rid of theirs...... |

Ceci or Trouba, both RFA this offseason. Let's take a run at them. |

Watch what the Rangers are going to get for McDonagh if they trade him, and then work up from there. Which honestly, is the reason why I have a bit of concern about giving up McDonagh, although I think it's probably the right move.
And yes, I know he's an LHD.

Ceci is a decent player, he's not an elite player. Winnipeg has 20 million dollars in cap with only 5 roster space to fill. So in oder to offer sheet Trouba and Winnpeg not to match, you'd have to overpay in terms of dollars and draft pick compensation.

The amazing thing to me this year is how bad all defenseman have played. McDonagh, Skjei, Smith.. these are guys you expect to shut down other team players, not be turnover machines. Thats why the whole Shattenkirk thing is absurd. The guy was our top scoring defenseman which is why he was brought in... how bout we criticize the guys that are supposed to be good shutdown guys. |

If they trade McDonagh, what about making a run at John Carlson this off-season as a UFA that costs you nothing but money. Not really a shutdown defender, and maybe brings the same attributes as Shattenkirk in away, but he's another righthander.
I can think of the perfect situation where the Rangers compete next year and loading up for the future at the same time, but it would require some serious recruitment and pulling an inside straight.
