TJ hates himself some Nash.
Which brings me to a related point, while we give the defense a bunch of crap and deservedly so, with a couple of exceptions our forwards don't defend worth poop either. Some of them never heard of back checking apparently, which is why the Rangers are getting murdered on shots coming from the late man (or second level which ever term you prefer). - Pete V
I’d have him over for lunch..then poison his tacos haha
Honestly I see what he brings on and or off the ice, I just want different people in the rum (torts voice). He couldn’t lead anyone out of a wet paper bag!😡

He'll 29 when he signs his new deal. And either he or Karlsson will be the highest paid d-man in the league. By all means, sign him. That means no dpeth and no cap space. #TankOnBaby |

Just a word of caution, Michael Del Zotto was awesome in his first year with the Rangers as well. - Pete V
Ok but Smith is now terrible, and Mcdonagh looks worse. Unless you're telling me those 3 have synced cycles, it's Ruff's fault. |

Skjei was awesome last year. This year he's terrible. His skills didn't erode over the course of 10 months. That's Lindy Ruff to a T. - tomburton99

Remember how poopty MDZ was his second year? Hayes? Kreider? Most sophomores? |

They should play that awesome Hartford Whalers song after goals - Slimtj100
Second best goal song...ever!
I'm from Binghamton so I know all about the Whalers (their AHL farm team was there in the 80's). |

No, I am not saying that.
I am saying that once you turn pro and have success, you have to work your ass off to get better. Meaning that you have to be a true pro, and not get fat, drunk and happy just by getting there and having some success. To be honest, that is what I think happened to Del Zotto, because I saw a ton of ability in him.
I still think Skjei is going to be a stud, but he has to have the commitment level to continuously get better. |

impossible to evaluate what we have in this guy - jimbo83
1000% agree, guy was leading all d-men in points with a torn MCL at one point, I can't kill him for playing injured |

Do you remember how Rangers fans were talking about MDZ after his rookie year? Now you have the benefit of hindsight. That's kind of easy when you know how things turned out for MDZ.
Same thing for Yakupov, guy was awesome as a rookie. Then down the poophole big time. Young players have to have the right mindset to bounce back or it can spiral.
Edit: And Del Zotto debuted and killed it in the league as a 19 year old. |

DZ was a victim of the NY scene which has had me worried about Skjei, it's already eating up Hayes and Vesey |

MDZ had 37 points as a 19 year old rookie. Miro is right that there was no comparison between MDZ and Skjei, MDZ was better as a rookie and he was better way younger. Then he hit the skids.
I agree with you that the lifestyle killed MDZ.
