OK, a broken clock is right twice a day ... even a blind squirrel finds the occasional nut. Better?

No, you were right the first time. I'm like (frank)ing Confucius, Plato and Nietzsche all rolled into one.

...except with a little Larry, Moe and Curly contaminating the end result.

I think it might be a little more than some contamination.

I have begun to think of cheering for the Rangers as a marathon not a sprint. It's so much easier on your heart if you eliminate the need for a Cup win every season. Each season is a chapter in the book. I just need another Cup win before the book ends! This chapter has now become about how they improve for the next chapter.
I will still cheer for a win every time they take the ice, but it makes it easier to not get too down when you see the kind of play that results in a loss.

- Tonybere

I'm starting to come around to this thinking, Tony. Nice run for a while. Always want them to win, although it's time to accept this is a lost season and look forward to next year.
Tried to stay on the Matt Train, but had to disembark due to injuries, motivation and lousy coaching.

According to reliable source, Lias Andersson will be returning to Frolunda later this month.

Nothing on Swedish sites yet...

I think Cerny tweeted that he asked the Rangers and they said no decision has been made, I would keep him in Hartford and make push for the playoffs

Why would they send him back? Bouncing him all over the place. Doesn't make any sense

It’s the Rangers, this should be of zero surprise

I think 90% of people have disembarked that train. That being said, when I watch the game I root for the team to win, because frankly if you didn't, what's the point of watching the game. But, I think they are selling no matter what, and I personally don't care to much between the difference of picking say 9th and 14th in the draft. And while it possible to move up the draft order, I think it will be hard to really get near the Top 5.

Make the right trades, but still try to win hockey games. Because losing is f'ing contagious.

This is a question for those of you who have been watching the Rangers for over 40 years. Have they drafted anyone in the past 40 years, outside of Leetch, who went on to become a truly special offensive player in the NHL? Someone who put up around 1,000 points. Kovalev and Weight reached 1,000. Amonte played long enough to get close. But I view them as really good players. Am I missing anyone? Have the Rangers been that bad/unlucky at drafting gifted offensive players?

All this talk about first round picks has got me thinking about this.

No, not really do be honest, other than the ones you mentioned. They've drafted good offensive players, but never an elite one.

Well I'm still rooting for wins and a playoff appearance. Bring Lias and Chytil up for the playoffs, they get co MVP's after winning the cup, and me and the other Matt are the only ones allowed to celebrate.

Interesting to see if in all those years they skipped on someone who became a legit superstar.

depends on how far you wanna go back

1977 they had the 8th and 13th picks and took Lucien Deblois and Ron Duguay

Islanders took Mike Bossy 15th overall

and, the Islanders also got John Tonelli in the 2nd round 33rd overall
