It was Bylsma bruh.
- sbroads24

Whether or not it was his fault is beside the point because the players will always win in a stare-down with a coach unless that coach is a lead pipe lock first ballot hall of famer.

Whether the players were right is another thing.

The idea since 2012 is to build a contender. Not to freak out over trading an average #2 Center
- sbroads24

Agree completely. Looking 2 years out, I don't like RoR's odds of being an average #2.

Doesn't have to be Casey next year. I expect him to be broken in in a similar fashion to Sam. There's other options. I don't care if it's Zegmus/ERod for a year.

But we just need to climb the standings next year!
Thats the goal!
Dont you get it!
Yelling!

- TheHank

I don’t know man, when I watch the games, all I see is a decent average, every day #2 Center in O’Reilly who’s played like he’s Bergeron, and makes more than 98% of the league.

But nothings his fault.

I just really hope his slowing down is because he's being lazy, because if he's losing what little speed he had because of his back or whatever it's going to get real ugly real fast.

If it's just him being lazy, that, theoretically, can be fixed.

Crappy

I didn’t say it worked out well...
did i?

Also...
not Kane & RORs faults
They’ve played well

GMTM Fd up the defense, Lehner has been inconsistent, and we have no depth scoring

That’s why we suck
Not bc of O’Reilly

He could score 40 goals this year & we still wouldn’t be good
ROR isn’t part of the problem

- jdfitz77

Ok here we go...
Did i say he was part of the problem?
Did i say if he scored 40 goals we would be good?
Did i say we have depth at scoring?
Did i say it was kane and rors fault?

He isnt going to get faster with age. Thats the thought. In a couple years when/if we are set up to be good again hes going to be slower and the return will be less. I dunno, its a fair discussion at this point imo.

No, but if he's slow because he's lazy then just putting in the effort will make him "faster".

I honestly don't know what to do with him. He makes a lot of money, but not prohibitively expensive at the moment, has a poopty structure to his contract with all but $1M in bonuses, it's got many years left, the only (slight)positive is that we'll already have paid him $28.5M in the first 3 years, leaving $24M over the final 4, so it should make it a little easier to move after say next year.

If they can get away with holding say $2M I might go for that, but that means no buying anyone else out because with his $2M and Hodgson's ~$792K that's ~$2.8M on the books in dead cap for a team we hope can be competitive in 2 years.

I think he's pretty much untradable at this point and I like the guy.
