I think Nelson has promise, but the general consensus on this board is that everyone is bad, and we should feel bad for it.

He looks serviceable, but then again comparing him to Gorges, or Bogosian makes anyone look serviceable.

I'm glad we threw a lottery ticket at Bowls. But I still don't know if he's of any use to a halfway decent team. At his cap hit, is he capable of playing reliable 3rd pair minutes?

From what I can tell, he's always been a player to provide tremendous growth at all levels, albeit a bit late. If he is a late bloomer, as his UDFA status implies, and in only a season and a half has earned a long term call up to play on the top 2 pairs, I'm..optimistic.. he's got more to grow.

Not sure. I hated his play everytime I saw him before this year. No thought of him being in our regular lineup at all. He's shown well. Hope you're right. I don't think it's out of the question given his recent play, just trying not to jump the gun seeing as he's 25 and hasn't shown a heck of a lot in the past.

Personal opinion, but I've seen NHL bottom pairing caliber play. He doesn't dazzle anyone, he isn't going to score a bunch of goals, but he doesn't make a lot of mistakes, he's competent in his own zone and he's helped our breakout with his passing. IMO he's the type of defender we should want for that bottom pairing. I just hope his play doesn't slip is all.

Haha Campbell did have a pretty tough first couple years didn't he.

Very true. I'm just not impressed with Gorges, Falk, Antipin, Tennyson, Redmond or any of our current bottom pairing guys. Antipin has shown flashes, but not sold there. Nelson has looked to be the most sound. Guhle should help next year.

Scrambling after being left at the altar by Josh McDaniels, the Colts might be looking for a safe, stabilizing hire. Frazier would seem to fit the bill, but he mostly struggled in three full seasons leading the Vikings. Frazier just finished his first season as the defensive coordinator in Buffalo.

To be honest, here’s who I would want to keep for next season, I probably forgot a player ... the rest can go, then next season we can reevaluate
1st line - Mittelstadt, Eichel , Okposo
2nd line - Baptiste, ROR, Reinhart (I have reversed myself and want another year to see)
3rd line - Bailey, ? (Asplund?, might be too early, Pommer (because we have to), (Asplund?, might be too early)
4th line - Girgenson - Josephson - ERod

1st Pair - hello?
2nd Pair - Scandella, Risto
3rd Pair - Guhle, McCabe
7th - Antipin ( need more time on Nelson)
