So what do the Sabres do, give 1 million dollar contracts to 23 players, and pat themselves on the back for how much more cap space they have?
Gotta spend it somewhere |

I'd trade ROR for a top D-man.
Hes not a bad player, i just think that cost would be best used elsewhere.
Only issue is, you have no experienced Centers after Eichel, unless you plan on throwing Asplund and Middlestat into the fire next year and 2 and 3 line centers. |

No...you give short term contracts to whoever will take them until the draft picks you need to rely on develop to the point that you are a good team again.
When your team is this close to the bottom, a 1-year $11 million contract to a 3rd or 4th liner is more valuable than a seven year contract for a player who is merely "good" at 7 or 8 million. Yes, that's somewhat of an exaggeration but while you are trying to dig yourself out of a hole, having short contracts you can get out from under easily are like gold. |

Spend in on defense. upgrade it big time.
Use ROR as the trade chip to get you that D-man you are lacking.
Sign Pleks, Filpula or Stastny in the offseason as a cheaper 2nd line C option and play middlestat on the wing with him. |

The O’Reilly line was dominated in shot attempts against last night
7CF to 14 CA
0 5 on 5 points
8 scoring chances against.
We’re paying 7.5 mil for a faceoff and PP specialist.
You could spend 3 mil on a 3rd line center to do the same |

Only watched the 1st period last night...
-Eichel looked amazing, love watching him develop before our eyes. He was playing both ends at 100% ... keep it up, that is what leaders do, what is expected of you4 best player, what is demanded from a $10m paycheck ... good for him buying in
-those jerseys are by far the best in the league, they have to move to them next year, right?
-Smart play by Reino on Jack’s sniper shot. Wonder what happened in his head 10 -15 games ago. Did his agent have a little talk with him. I’d still only do a bridge deal, heavily laden with performance incentives.
- Go get JT, open the coffers for him. Another guy who makes nearly every linemates ever to play with him much better can only help this team, there is no downside. |

Erod-Eichel-Skunk
RoR-Mittelstadt-Baptiste (Ror takes faceoffs)
CJSmith-Asplund-Nylander
stink-stank-stunk
trade okposo and pommer in offseason - homiedclown
-Erod has proven close to nothing. If he can keep up for the remainder of the season, maybe.
-Mittelstatd is DEFINITELY ready to start at 2C next year? Is he definitely ready to start at 2LW with ROR at C? Which is a much higher probability scenario than the former.
-Baptiste? Cause he's scored a ton
CJ Smith at 3LW, yeah, would like to see him called up before the end of the year to see if his skill can translate. This is actually feasible.
-Asplund definitely ready for 3C?
-Nylander, no way in (frank)all he's ready for the NHL
-FindA-4th-Line. Josefsson has been good when healthy. Replace Larsson, Nolan. Wilson can be the 13th. Keep Okposo, Girgensons. I doubt anyone wants Pommer. Might as well pencil him in at 3RW. |

There's no getting JT without moving ROR.
Whites at home, Royals on the road, current home jersey as their 3rd. They really are sharp. I had to get one. |

At least after next season, 10.6 million removed off cap with Mamo and Pommer. Plus, it makes sense financially to BO Bogo if you can't trade him. You save 4M for 2 years. Same amount saved if you bought him out the following year when Moulson and Pommers contracts are gone. Can drop up to about 15M in 19-20 with just those 3. |

26 and 29 expire next year. 24 mil to spend with them on the books come July 1.
Bogo = bad bad bad contract
If they move Bogo next summer, and only use talent from within this year, next year they could potentially have 41 million dollars in '19. Throw a couple sheckles at 23, Ullmark will need a contract, Erod and such. No big ticket items. They'll be able to comfortably spend 30 mil outside of the organization.
The cap is 100% not a problem atm |
