A lot of players choose a franchise for their long term goals. Some choose to play with elite players. Some choose a market size. Some choose an American or Canadian team specifically. Some come because their friends/family are here/close. Some come simply for opportunity.

Not every player is the perception of Evander Kane.

Victor Olofsson? Looks promising.

Guhle. Borgen perhaps.

Asplund, Pu, Fitzgerald also look promising. Really hoping Nylander is on a long development curve and his injury has greatly hampered his season.

So....6/22 prospects worth a poop. 27% hit.

Beyond the 1st round, statistically since the 90's, 25% of players made it to the NHL. Beyond the third round, 12%.

Right now, zero of his picks are playing a consistent NHL role. If all players mentioned end up having an NHL career, or ones I didn't mention, he will have exceeded the average.

His stellar trouble free 9 year resume will be what scouts are looking at.

Sabres are going to really find a stud to fill in for Kane, probably take 3 drafts
