Lofton was almost out of football. Philly was the only team to give him a tryout after the Raiders cut him and they cut him too. Buffalo gave him a shot as a reclamation project. He and Still were just bad examples. Lofton would’ve signed with whomever gave him a shot. He’ll his 1st year here he played in 12 games starting 2 of them and had 8 catches for 166 yards. Not flowing numbers.

If he doesn't get a minimum of a 1st rounder and a decent prospect for Kane, he will get an F in my books. I think he has overplayed his hand big time. When Kane was ripping it up in November and December, that was obviously the time to unload him. He had the market to virtually himself because teams like the Rangers, Ottawa, Montreal etc were still seeking the playoffs. Now he has much more competition. I think if i dusted off my old macro economics text book, it's called the supply demand curve. Too much supply now will reduce the price for Kane, Gorges, Lehner and others.
Botterill has an MBA from Michigan. Pretty sure he knows this.

Also, could you imagine how this board would explode if Kane got seriously hurt or ended up with another assault charge. Yikes!

What if the demand was speculation?
What if it was all low ball offers?
What if his demand wasn't real, and now he has less teams keeping in touch , because of kanes recent on ice play?

It's not on jbotts to supply a player with no demand.

I'm sure there has been some inquiries, but the locker room issues could also be a factor.

Cap tight teams also needed Kane to play down this years 5.5 million $ salary to fit their salary structure.
