I think Bouma has some L3 skill. I'm excited to see this line if it happens. Just for fun, I'll even predict they have two goals tonight
Here's what I want to know...why isn't Hayden up? Big man, skill, plays physical. They need that. - Hank3Henshaw
Didn't Bouma have 16 goals a couple of years ago? They are letting Hayden play more minutes in the AHL. I bet we see him again if the Ice Hogs season gets worse. I think he gets a much bigger role next season; maybe first shot as the LW on the first or second line... |

Noted that as well.
I am not 100% sure on the dynamic between Joel and his 3 associate coaches, but I found that to be an interesting timing to have Don standing with those guys. - Justin Lowe
Curious where was Dineen, anyone hear? |

I'm certainly no expert on skating, but watching Murphy sprint just doesnt look very smooth - thoughts? |

Wingels has L3 skill but Bouma doesn't bring much to the table. I hope you're right about tomorrow, because I'll be at the game! - JRoenick97
So I'm not the only one naïve enough to buy tix for this game? In my defense, I got the tickets about 3 months ago.
I'll be looking for 3 things:
1) some semblance of a team identity.
2) Anything other than four guys watching Kane stickhandle himself to death on the PP (give him someone to pass to guys!)
3) eliminating the "prayer passes".

He's been playing with a rookie Center in Dubois (who I would love to acquire) and a rotation of RWs, but I'm sure that $$$$ will be the biggest factor in his UFA decision. I'm not sure CBJ will have $8 mil to give him, and the Hawks likely won't either. He's been a treat to watch in CBJ just like in CHI. Top offensive talent in the world with the puck on his stick, just playing with less effective finishers in CBJ compared to Kaner. - EnzoD
I've seen about 10 CBJ games this year (just to see how Panarin is doing there), and Dubois has been really impressive. They tend to fall into the same "5 guys skating around" problem that the Hawks have on occasion. |

At the time of the trade, I believe the plan was for Panarin to play with Wennberg who has been playing below expectations amongst several other Jackets like Jenner, Atkinson, and Werenski. Panarin's numbers could be more on par with his production when lined up with Kane if Wennberg was playing well. He's a great playmaker and assist machine when clicking. |

Dubois is a young, rough and tumble forward with top-6 skill like the Tkachuk brothers. Getting 1-2 young forwards like this would be nice. |

Maybe the plan is to play him to confirm that he cannot play (to the Cap circumvention crowd). Then LTIR him for the season and use his salary as a trade asset. As some poster mentioned some time back, Bowman can absorb a bad expiring contract to free up some cap for another team. |

They don't have to, the man has a head injury - LTIR him now. And make a forward thinking decision on how to use the cap space... |

NOT playing Crawford is about as close to an official #TANK job as possible. The only other way to help the #TANK is to trade Anisimov as I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that 2, 7, 19, or 20 are moved. |

Shut down CC since you have the chance and advance the team.
Stanbo now has 2 opportunities to make this team better with no Hossa cap and now no CC cap to work with. Now is the time to make this team a long standing top team. I hate being this type of fan (I blame being a NY guy growing up around Rangers fans.......) But if Stan doesn't utilize these cap opportunities and make this team better, axe him. GMs in his shoes with the still quality pieces he has would be foaming at the mouth with these breaks. |

I'm starting to convince myself that the Hawks have been tanking since Crawford went down...breaking up the best 4th line, sending hayden down, sending forsling down, etc...it's not like they would announce to the world that they were if that is truly what they are doing...
Maybe they want to get a high draft pick in a very deep draft, someone that could come in and be a difference maker right away...
If they really are tanking, watch out for next year, cause they will be DOMINATING!!

He's not. He has improved but doesn't have much speed (guessing he might barely beat Seabrook in a race).
If you want to watch a classic power skater with proper stride, dial up your TV or browser to re-watch Nick Leddy. Might be one of the finest examples in the NHL, accelerates within about a stride and a half.
We had a guy like that once, can't quite remember him . . . |

How on earth does our two months of cap relief give us a better position? Eat a team's bad contract for two months so they can add a big cap hit?
Even if we LTIR Crawford and Hossa remains on LTIR, we have to have them on our books for day 1 of 2018-19's season. LTIR players don't get taken out of the cap equation until the second day of the season.
Maybe we could eat a bad contract, but I doubt Stan does that. I'd keep Crawford on IR for the rest of the season and embrace the mini-tank with Glass/Forsberg. |

Should be another great spiritual journey |

Remember the days when we were in cap hell, and needed to trade a good prospect to get rid of one of our albatrosses? Remember the days when we overpaid to grab a piece to chase a cup? I want our trade deadline moves and offseason to be on the other side of that dynamic. I want someone to give us something to shed a salary into the Hossa LTIR slot this year. I want someone to trade us a Denault for one of our grit players for their playoff run.
Get 'er done, Stan. |

If the Hawks do not turn over some of the high contract veterans they are going nowhere.
Moving pieces around the edge will not work!!!!! |
