I’d be surprised if any of them made the roster
Heck,
I think Mittelstadt might not even
Botts seems like he wants guys to play in the AHL - jdfitz77
I may seem strange but, in my opinion mitts is a %100 lock for the sabres. He's probably better then 8-10 of our current forwards.
He's the #5 ranked prospect In the world.
He'll be 20 in the fall
He is without question the most exciting prospect in either sport in buffalo the last 20 years. (Except eichel)
In my opinion
Surprised your not all over this fitz?

Yes, preferably, I’d move on now before it becomes albatross, but that’s just me.
I think ROR fits another team better than ours.
If we could land a TJ Brodie for him I’d do it - sbroads24
Well even though i disagree, let’s move things forward
Map out our defense with Brodie on it |

I think this is where the idea came from in the first place. We arent going to be good for another couple years, ror isnt going to get faster or better with age. He should have good value now that he might not in a few years. If we can get younger and faster (for 3 years from now after the lockout) is it not worth exploring?
I dont think anyone is saying he sucks or isnt one of our best players. Moulson was one of our better players not that long ago and look where he is now. Just saying. |

I am excited about him
BUT
-he’s not exactly killing it in the NCAA, he’s just doing “ok”
AND
-Botts seems to want young players to develop in the AHL
If it were ME,
then I’d probably have Mittelstadt play as our 3C next year
I’m just not convinced Botts will do the same
Make sense? |

[quote=BeadyEyedDouche]We would also still have Ryan Miller and Steve Ott and
Wrong but ok - SABRES 89
He’s not wrong he wanted to give Miller and ott long term deals he did not want to tank and he was overruled and he thought he had more power than the GM |

Another team that likes slow, prematurely aged guys that can't score 5 x 5
Or
Another team in need of a proven 2nd line center , great face off guy, who can score 60 points a year and is in the middle of his prime? |

If we were anywhere near a contending team right now this convo wouldnt be happening. A contending team would probably love to have a guy like that now and would worry about his aging contract later. He is a good player, its all about projecting his production and cost out over a few years when we "might" actually be good again. |

I see what you are saying, but some guys are just too good for the ahl. Like eichel
If Sam can come right in (different regime) Casey is going to be a sabre next year. Probably this year.
It's just my opinion , but he looks like an eichel type.
I'm pumped already

Idk about either
Mittelstadt isn’t tearing it up in the NCAA
He’s not even a ppg player
Connor for Winnipeg scored about 2ppg as a freshman & struggled mightily in his rookie year
Botts might think it’s best for Mittelstadt to spend time on the AHL
As for Pu...
I’d be extremely shocked if he makes the opening night roster
He’s on pace for LESS than the 86pts he had last year
That’s concerning
We should’ve seen him continue to spike to over 100pts in his final year in Juniors
His great season last year may have set expectations he can’t live up to
Olofsson might actually be the most “ready” prospect we have - jdfitz77
He's better than Eichel right? He had a, barely, higher ppg than Eichel.

He looks even better in person. Clearly the best player most nights is year. He might not be tearing it up in the points department but he is tied for the most points on his team right now with opposing teams matching up their best defenses against him all year. They know who he is. |

interesting reed from pham:
http://www.wgr550.com/art...-which-includes-rochester - Michael Pachla
Nice. Yea those were pretty much the same thoughts I have. Most interesting part (and why I believe he may be on the fast track) is the stuff on Pu
"The 19-year-old has elite speed and impressed so much in training camp, that Botterill kept him around after most had gone back to junior. " |

Ppg in college is a tough thing to analyze in most cases imo. |

Maybe he’s had 1 too many long islands?
Too bad he didn’t have a “douchebag” bartender that refused to overserve him - jdfitz77
The douchebag is the guy that makes a crack about a "frat party". Not, "sorry, sir, but if I make that drink I'd be over serving you." and for the record, half those martinis at Cecilia's have too much alcohol in them.
Or, also like I said before, you cut the booze in half, which I've gotten every time I've ordered it somewhere. The booze police aren't going to bust in and say you can't make it with half the alcohol. |

I was just being a smart ass. It's very much conference dependent. Hockey East is pretty tough whereas the Big Ten is fairly wide open. |

No, I told him to go (frank) himself and declined it. It's bullpoop. You're out of it, so you're sabotaging the league. |
