I liked the deal at the time. Given that Schenn's irreplaceable production has been easly replaced, I love the deal.

Yeah at that point there is no reason to make a trade. The idea of the trade is to get a better backup, not replace the starter
- YuenglingJagr

Im open to someone who can steal the cage from Neuvirth but has to be cost effective.

Mrazek and Lehner are wishful thinking and seem to have had their issues behind the scenes. Assuming Raanta would also be too expensive.

The guy Id kick tires on is Lehtonen. He's having a decent year and Dallas cannot afford 10 million in goalies if they want to add at the TDL.

Anybody really think hexy will trade one of our 2018 1st rounders? I really want them to go into the draft with two 1st rounders, and then let things shake out.

Also that second 1st rounder makes the Schenn trade bearable... and if he packages it for some deal involving kane and a goalie, or ROR, I'll be bummed.

- bmoreflyer

If anything, I’d like to see them use the firsts to move up.

Pin the since-Christmas stats on the goalie:

12 GP, 12 starts, .888 SV%, 3.06 GAA, 8-3

11 GP, 7 starts, .914 SV%, 2.52 GAA, 5-2-2

Don't think we can afford him unless salary is going back. Which would defeat the purpose for them.

I caught 2 of the OAR teams matches. I felt sorry for that guy being married to her when she screams like that at him during a match. She was down right scary.

Some quick thoughts since I haven't posted in a while and I know you're all dying to hear from me

1. They probably outplayed the Devils last night, but deserved their fate with their horrendous D zone coverage all night.

2. Neuvirth needs to calm the (frank) down in net. He was all over the place

3. I hope the Elliot injury spurs the Flyers to reconsider their goalie usage. I believe this is the 4th straight season the starter has missed significant time. They need to be better at giving the starters proper rest. Fatigue is often the cause of injury and playing the starter so many games in row has likely contributed to these injury problems.

4. The Manning-Gudas pairing has been a mess lately. I'm sure people have complained enough about Sanheim being in LHV, but watching Manning when I know there is a better option is just painful.

5. I really hope the Flyers give their young guys an opportunity rather than trade for vets at the deadline. I truly believe there is some major upgrades available to them in the minors if they just get the chance.

6. Would really like to see the Flyers take a renewed approach to shootouts. It's such a stupid thing, but they can't keep giving away points every season.

- PhillySportsGuy

1-4, yes.
5, agree, but not happening
6. infuriating how many points they have given away since 2005 - they just never ever get better at this, no matter the players. it's a crucial part of the game now and those points add up and they matter. FIX IT.

This reminded me....

Just what in the blue (frank) is "core muscle" surgery?

Is that the new term for a sports hernia?

- johndewar

Reconnecting veins and nerves to the most core of muscles?

I think you can but the other team needs to sign off on it.

Otherwise how did we ever trade Pronger to AZ?

- hereticpride

ah, i think you're right.

Don't think Hextall would even consider it anyway. Elliott has completely met expectations at a good cost. Andersen is a risky contract at his age considering his struggles this year.
- Baxter27

i'm good with elliott. he's basically delivered. i'm not interested in anderson, but i do think they need someone else.

Not sure, I thought you could if the other team was ok with it. If not, how did the Flyers trade Pronger?
- BiggE

i forgot about pronger...i just remembered reading something awhile ago about not being able to trade a hurt player, but i probably missed the "other team ok with it" part.
