I'm aware of how many games Elliott was playing. I don't think it's an issue.

Didn't anyone reads Bill's article?
Hexy said practice is tougher on them then games.
Ugh this argument is (frank)ing ponderous!

I would say a more trusted player, they went with a VET over a Rookie. Since Sanheim has left Manning has been below average, Gudas too.

The list of things Hakstol is getting blamed for is starting to get comical.

Let's add Provorov laying an egg last night to the list.

- Baxter27

If Hak knew what he was doing, he would have taken Elliott out for the shootout and Elliott would still be healthy. Right?

Now that that is out of the way, I agree that Hak's handling of the goalies since he has been here has been questionable at best. He tends to ride guys in to the ground IMO.

The fact that he wasn't given much choice factors in to it this season.

All that being said, the amount of orthopedic surgeons posting on this thread is remarkable.

See I’m calling b.s. on that; I’ve been questioning Hak’s overuse of Elliott all season and there were quite a few times that I felt Neuvy should have got the start for no other reason than to give Elliott a day off.
- BiggE

I'm just saying it's a damned if you do damned if you don't approach. If they played Neuvirth more to give a Elliott a rest they wouldn't be where they are in the standings.

This. Woke up this morning (at 3:30 kill me) and the first thing I thought of was this loss.

Still can't get over Simmonds out there on the thing goal. Come on Hak. Weak sauce

I’m not sure they beat anyone with Neuvirth in goal. He’s so damned inconsistent.
- BiggE

if it's neuvirth vs. kinkaid, i'm going with neuvirth

And I'm calling bs on that lol - the complaints would've been "why are we playing this inconsistent, injury prone stiff when Elliot is on fiah!!!!!!!!1"

I’m sure some would have said that, but I wouldn’t have been one of them.

Personally don't think Elliot's injury was "caused" by too much playing time. Besides, he had a break during the all star hiatus.

Personally do think the Flyers desperately need a bona fide #4 defenseman to bump Manning into the Cote suite and try to bring some stability to the juicy leaking dumpster of a bottom 6. Steamy dumpster too, like one in Florida in August.

Man, reading this morning that a Lehner and Kane to Flyers for a package that looks somewhat like Sanhiem, Lehtera a 1st round and maybe 3rd-4th round is a bit troubling to me. Hope its bull manure.

So true, case and point...

1 minute left they put out Provy and Gudas. Normally Gudas would be ok but he has played terrible in the last few weeks. They had no other choices. Honestly they should have put ghost out, the way he reads the play and his hockey IQ give them a better chance.
