Had someone said it like that on page 1 we'd still be on page 1 lol

Nope this horse isn't quite beat dead enough.
I heard that elliott started tying his skates differently due to fatigue and Hak should have known his bowel movements had become loose hence not been abel to practice on waxing gibbous moons.

Cause Hak should have known that you, to date, have only back read 3 pages.

Didn't they just sign him to an extension ? I like Anderson too and he likes philly. Gave the flyers a lot of credit cause they helped get his wife the best medical care around. His career stats in Philly are pretty darn good as well

His contract is a pretty big road block. 2 years, 4.75 per 35+ contract

That is a ridiculous statement, the reasons why don’t matter. It’s simply taking a real chance playing him as much as they have when he is on the wrong side of 30 and hasn’t handled a workload like this in forever.

Hextall himself has said that the plan going into the season was to use both goalies as a tandem. He never expected Elliott to be on pace to start 64-65 games and I’m willing to bet he wouldn’t have even signed Elliott if he knew his expected workload was going to be this heavy.

Also, your accusation that the criticism of Hak’s goaltending usage is Monday morning QBing is just as preposterous. I, along with many others, have questioned his handling of the goaltenders for years.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but, as you said to me the other day, it’s not a very well thought out one and it’s not supported by facts.

I stated that most of the criticism is Monday morning QBing not all of it. I have seen some criticism that I feel is reasonable but not all.

What was expected coming into the season doesn't mean that Elliott was not physically capable of playing more. If we're going to use his past games played as the main reasoning for criticizing his usage then it's only fair to look at why his games played have been where they have been in the past. That's being open minded rather than just being close minded and only looking at what you want to suit a narrative. Or do we just assume that he's not physically capable of playing more to suit the same narrative?

As far as age is concerned, he's 32, not 40. There have been many older goaltenders who are older who have played a high level of games.

This is simply about a pre-disposition to criticize the coach for an injured goaltender. That's speculation and it's reasonable for discussion purposes but it's still just speculation.

Bottom line is that your claims that my statement is ridiculous, not well thought out or preposterous is disingenuous and biased.

I can absolutely back up my opinion with reasonable statements in looking at Elliott and his past usage and why that was how it was. I can also provide some insight into what factors a coach uses when deciding who to play in games and a goaltenders usage.

With regards to the Sabres and their forwards there is only one forward I actually think Hextall would trade one of the D prospects for and that is O'Reilly. he talked highly of him when he selected him for the World Championships when he was Canada GM. The cap hit is high at 7.5 but he is probably the only forward i think hextall would try to get. He's versatile, solid two way player.

Again it all depends on cost.

I actually wouldn't mind him as he could be someone to replace Simmonds if you decided to move on from him.

This reminded me....

Just what in the blue (frank) is "core muscle" surgery?

Is that the new term for a sports hernia?

I would say a more trusted player, they went with a VET over a Rookie. Since Sanheim has left Manning has been below average, Gudas too.

No, he was better.

It is really just a reference to Manning not being very good

If wisniewski looks okay I think I'd rather him be our 7th than having alt continue to sit. Maybe he could compete with manning for 6th d man

not better, just had the coaches trust. No data or eye test shows any big difference in their play. Was it better for Sanheim to get more minutes in LHV? sure but that is it

If he's deemed better than at least one of the current goalies that isn't a problem.

Got it.

I first heard that term last night and first thought they should have just reported that Brian Elliot was just plain broken right now.

He was seeing better results than Sanheim. Big difference. There was no better proof to that than the repeated mistakes that led to goals against right after Sanheim was sent down

From the Buffalo thread:

You might not be willing to trade Provorov for Eichel, but your GM would do it in a heartbeat. He would also add Patrick and your 1st this year with no problem.
