If he's deemed better than at least one of the current goalies that isn't a problem. - Scoob
like I said yesterday. the 2nd year (19-20 season) could get tight for the Flyers depending on what happens with the salary cap. A marginal improvement in goal isnt worth that to me, nor do I want 3 goalies signed next season |

remind me again...how many games did Marty B. average a year over his career? - juiced
57.5 games per season was his average. But if you take out his 1st year (4 games), his last year with STL (7 games), 1 half season lockout and 1 half season for injury his average jumps to 62.7 games per year.
From '98-'08 he averaged 74 starts per year |

I thought maybe I was off base. Told him he either vastly over rates Eichel (whom I think is a great player) or vastly under rates Provorov. (whom I see as an all situations #1 defenseman who will be a perennial Norris candidate in a few years.

It started off with a statement that to get ROR it would have to start with Provy and Konecny.
I said I wouldn't do Provy straight up for Eichel so what makes you think you could get that for ROR?
Then he responded with that statement.

If they are trading for a guy like Anderson, Elliott is probably going to Ottawa as part of the deal. They’ll roll with Anderson/Neuvirth this year and next and hopefully Anderson/Hart in 19-20. If they do that in 19-20, the combined cap hit with Hart in an ELC, should only be a few hundred K more than it is now. |

No Thanks.
Provy is non-starter.
A #1 D-man is much harder to find then a #1 Center.

If they think ROR = Provy & Konecny, the guys with the straight jackets need to pay them a visit. |

Some quick thoughts since I haven't posted in a while and I know you're all dying to hear from me
1. They probably outplayed the Devils last night, but deserved their fate with their horrendous D zone coverage all night.
2. Neuvirth needs to calm the (frank) down in net. He was all over the place
3. I hope the Elliot injury spurs the Flyers to reconsider their goalie usage. I believe this is the 4th straight season the starter has missed significant time. They need to be better at giving the starters proper rest. Fatigue is often the cause of injury and playing the starter so many games in row has likely contributed to these injury problems.
4. The Manning-Gudas pairing has been a mess lately. I'm sure people have complained enough about Sanheim being in LHV, but watching Manning when I know there is a better option is just painful.
5. I really hope the Flyers give their young guys an opportunity rather than trade for vets at the deadline. I truly believe there is some major upgrades available to them in the minors if they just get the chance.
6. Would really like to see the Flyers take a renewed approach to shootouts. It's such a stupid thing, but they can't keep giving away points every season. - PhillySportsGuy

Every fan base is naive at one point to their teams superstar. When Giroux was called the best player in the world by lavy half the fan base would not have traded him for Crosby letang and Malkin and 3 first rounders. |

For some reason I thought he was a ufa and got 2 year contract didn't realize it was 2 additional years. Yeah I'm not to keen for that either. Back on the Chad Johnson wagon if mrazek is too expensive. Howard had a gem for the wings last night vs anaheim |

They balked at my hypothetical offer in here the other say of Rubstov and a 1st for ROR with salary retained. Apparently it will take 10x that. |

At least at the time he was arguably a top 5 player.
ROR isn't even a top 30

Since it seems like there's a lot of goalie talk today, I saw Bryz at Whole Foods this morning. Want me to ask him if he's in game shape? |

Neuvirth for sure. Elliott has always been pretty durable
...up until he was forced to play so much

Didn't Hextall name Johnson to be a goalie for Team Canada for one of the World Championship rosters he put together?

No, it isn't. He's been very poor at the shootout for the past four seasons: 7 goals in 38 attempts for an 18.4% success rate. Over this timeframe, Voracek has been twice as good.

By those stats our shooters should be ...
