I’m not trying to criticize Botts or anything
Just saying that besides Mittelstadt,
there’s isn’t anything specific yet to look forward to
But the return in the Kane trade,
plus whoever we pick this year in the first
Those should be some more nice pieces
But he’s got a lot more holes than those to fill - jdfitz77
Shipped out Foligno and Ennis
Neither is having a good season.
Brought in scandella
Wilson
Most importantly he has groomed Rochester, and hasn't knee jerked a rebuild. Seen than before

I agree.
I just have a strange feeling that the kc pick turns into more picks. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd next year.
Just in case Patrick mahomes is really awesome, we have a bunch of good players to show for it.
Starting with the Tre day this year..
Any worries with some of the scouts leaving? I know we lost the player personal/ brian gaines to Houston as their gm .
Heard we have a few guys interviewing. - Boss34
Perfect. Keep parlaying that xtra first year after year while getting xtra 2nds and 3rds until it becomes a top 5 overall some year. Every year in the nfl theres teams that go from the playoffs to horrile seemingly overnight. If we had traded down with the giants last year for instance that xtra first would be a #2 overall this year.

NHL network just said Jeff Gorton and Botterill are under the gun for the trade deadline. Botterill more so he has to maximize his return for Kane. |

I refused to watch that show when it was on, and then finally broke down shortly after it went off-air and it's really good. Kind of disappointed I didn't watch it when it was on. |

It will be interesting to see how the sentiment for botterill will change if he fumbles this deadline. |

baptiste was flying...
did anyone notice gus last night after he got out of the penalty box for the second time?...he went behind the tampa net in pursuit full speed, picked up the puck behind his own net and headed up ice full speed...somethin bit him in the ass...I didn't know he was that fast, or determined on the rush - Michael Pachla

He's turned down 2 offers already, he's not concerned with what other players will bring or brought. It will be a good deal for the Sabres moving forward. |

Yeah, I know. I was one of them. I absolutely loved McNabb, or at least the idea of what McNabb might become. In all honesty, though, he's been an average defenseman for most of his career thus far. Is he having a good year, or is he the byproduct of playing on a good team with a good coach? - Powerslave
I don’t watch Vegas a ton
but he’s playing over 20min a night,
so he must be doing something right
And he was a bit inconsistent for the Kings, but was also frequently paired with Dougherty
So again, he must have been playing well at times
Seems like he’s become a solid 2nd pair guy

I think we all wish gmtm had done exactly this. Im not going to call for botts to go make any big moves until this team grows up a bit and shows some flash of light in the tunnel. The less he does right now the better if you ask me. We gotta stockpile and develop some young assets first and foremost imo. - TheHank

I wonder if Botts strategy is to let NYR Rangers set the market with Nash? Once "team X" trades for Nash, all of team X's serious competitors will likely feel pressured to match. This is where Kane, Lehner, Gorges and others come into play.
Who knows but i do know that if doesn't get at least a 1st rounder and/or a good prospect for Kane, this board will explode. People will be calling for Darcy to come back. |

I would pass on both at this point. They wil both be 31 and older if and when we are actually good. As far as tavares goes, i dont think having 22M or so tied up in two guys is a recipe for success. I still think we should be getting younger and faster as a team at this point. Neither guy fits that bill. |

That's a new England move.
In the late 20's I think the bills are more likely to draft a solid player then a boom or bust guy. Not that there's a huge difference from 21 to 29.
They typical 8-10 bills pick. Hasn't been working |

Sabres arn't going to pay anyone 11 million this year.
Bad news.
Everyone is mad about ror and okposo at a combined 14 million.
The last 15 Games, they look worth it.

I think he’ll get a good return for Kane
Besides that...
some mid-late round picks for guys like Pouliot, Gorges, etc
Lehner is the only other piece that might move which could get a decent return (2nd?)
I’d be surprised if O’Reilly or Sam, etc get moved |

At this point that xtra first is just bonus currency. Keep flipping it into more xtra currency until it becomes something of outstanding value (a top 5 pick per say) in the future. If you can flip it for a 2nd this year and get another first next year that might become a top 5 pick i would do it 7 days a week and twice on sunday and keep doing it year after year until it does or it can be used to grab that sure fire qb we all want. |

I hope all this comes to fruition. If it doesnt it will be viewed as him fumbling the ball and overplaying his hand. Is everyone still going to keep up the whole "in botterill we trust" line if he fumbles it? We will see soon enough. |

We can forget any players with very large price tags coming here as of now, or spending big any player(s) for now. Not until he gets this roster set to move forward. |

Tavares + Dahlin makes us good really damn quick imo
I see what ya mean about Carlson,
But he helps fix the defense if we miss out on Dahlin
I get where you’re coming from...
but i also don’t wanna waste YEARS of Jack either |
