That market is super hyper inflated. - TheHank
Why should Botts drop his asking price ? doesn't need to, he has time to make the best deal regardless if Nash is moved first. |

Sabres arn't going to pay anyone 11 million this year.
Bad news.
Everyone is mad about ror and okposo at a combined 14 million.
The last 15 Games, they look worth it. - Boss34

Im not necessarily saying he should. The problem is right now botts has the leverage, but everyone knows kane will be traded. If botts waits to long the leverage paradigm might shift and gms could eventually say take it or leave it and the return might drop. I hope not and want to assume botts knows what hes doing. If kane gets injured all hell will break loose on here. |

I hope all this comes to fruition. If it doesnt it will be viewed as him fumbling the ball and overplaying his hand. Is everyone still going to keep up the whole "in botterill we trust" line if he fumbles it? We will see soon enough. - TheHank
How could he fumble it?
The return for Kane will be as high as he can get
It’s not like he’ll be able to talk some GM into some crazy return
If any fan expects that, then that’s on them
If all we end up getting is a 2nd & a prospect...
well that’ll suck
But i won’t blame Botts
It’ll just be what the market would bear
The only way Botts could screw it up is by taking a worse prospect from team a, instead of a better prospect from team b...
but we won’t know how that plays out for a couple years
What do u mean by Botts “fumbling” it?
What kind of trade(s) would get that designation from you? |

We can forget any players with very large price tags coming here as of now, or spending big any player(s) for now. Not until he gets this roster set to move forward. - SABRES 89
That makes sense i guess
Was just talking more in theory with Hank than anything
I don’t expect Tavares would actually wanna come here
Just hope he doesn’t sign with the Leafs
That would make me puke |

Exactly. To those that say he's overplayed his hand, they have NO idea what has been offered. |

Only if there was 1 GM wanting him
And that certainly doesn’t seem to be the case
Kane is one of the top options
We aren’t talking about Gorges or Pouliot
Those are the kind of players u pull the trigger on as soon as u get a decent offer

Isn't Nash historically terrible in the playoffs, who wouldn't be excited about adding him |

He wasn't great last year, but the 2 years before he had a combined 18 pts in 24 games. |

According to Ek we're making a run at McDonagh, that I guess would be fumbling the trade deadline. Maybe we should have claimed Jagr |

My expectations are kinda low.
I do not want to hate on jbotts already.
Like what he's done so far.
Phil is gonna jumble up the lines so we lose 3 in a row. Get back in the 30th comfort zone.
Vancouver signing benning signifies total tank move. Don't worry about your job, do what you have too. |

Tavares + Dahlin makes us good really damn quick imo
I see what ya mean about Carlson,
But he helps fix the defense if we miss out on Dahlin
I get where you’re coming from...
but i also don’t wanna waste YEARS of Jack either - jdfitz77
I'm not trying to knock you fitz,
But you have aspirations of traveres, dahlin and carlson, but your worried about Casey making it in the nhl.
Seams like your a bit over the top positive, but then a little too much negative on casey. |

It's been reported (2) 1'st round picks and an extention. Any thing less and they should fire jbotts immediately.
* just kidding
Who really knows if anyone is interested or everyone?
The locker room b.s.. doesn't help, it's an intangible |

I'm sure we all have our definitions of what would be a success for what Botts gets for Kane. |
