It's fake for two reasons. One the value is absurdly one-sided in Buffalo's favor.

Two: even if it wasn't, teams make overhaul trades like this in the offseason, possibly early in the season as a shot in the arm, definitely not during the deadline.

Lehner for 2nd 4th dale Weiss!!! Keep it simple

Why, is the big question with him, but when we see him in games like this, and when we see a player like Eichel taking over games on a more often, the Sabres with those two at center should have a much better record these past two seasons than 50-67-22 over the last two season. Sure, their defense hasn't been the greatest and goaltending, specifically this season, has been erratic, but with those two there really is no reason why they should be bottom-five in scoring two years running.

Pach, i think that shows just how bad the depth has been for goal scoring. Erod and Baptiste will help immensely. They also need a TON more goals from the defense. The much maligned 4th line to start the year was horrible.

They've gone from

Moulson-Larsson-Griffith-Criscuolo-Larsson- Girgs

to

Josefson (hurt to start year) - Erod (same) - Baptiste - Wilson - Girgs - Larsson.

There are still upgrades to be made, but the strides have been huge.

ROR will get you 60 points, now we need some other guys to get there, too.

I though Sam looked fantastic last night, It reiterated my points I made about him yesterday. Great vision and hockey sense and really the only weapon we have on the PP. I believe someone added it helps when someone can score on his tape to tape tap in goal passes. This pretty much happened last night. He cleaned up the slop on one but good PP overall

But, point #2 doesn't hold water.
