I don't know I just don't see mcbean moving up in the draft... I think he will have someone he likes in the first or 2nd and stick with where he is drafting. If we sign a vet in free agency I would bet he doesn't move up.

It seem like people are forgetting that McNabb was just returning from a major knee injury and didn't look like the same player in the dozen games he played in Buffalo after. He played most of the season in Rochester. This wasn't a tank move.

What makes this trade so catastrophically bad, is that it's a bad deal even without including McNabb at all.

The binge starts tonight, I've been stretching all day.

I'm not going at it slight, the speed ball is on its way.

I tell the hookers not to bite, it (frank)ing hurts, eh?

You have to stretch before sex ?

When are you guys gonna learn that you don’t need hookers anymore it’s called tender

Didn’t spend stupid money and his one year assessment is going to get us a top 5 pick. I’d say that’s moving us forward.
- Pegullaville

That’s all fine...
just hasn’t done anything for the SABRES yet

Mittelstadt looks like a find
If we pick top3, that should be another one there

But how quickly these guys make a difference is still tbd

Nice start,
but there’s a ways to go
and moves will have to be made

Yeah that would literally change everything. He reminds me of a Karlsson and Lindstrom. Whoever gets him is lucky as hell.
- RhinoFan

I’ve heard those comparisons

Heck, I’d be happy if he just turned out to be Hedman for us!

But if we don’t get him,
Botts is gonna need to be some kinda wizard to fond us a top pair guy

I heard an idea of taking bpa at 21,
then try to trade down a little bit & pick up an extra pick

Take Rudolph around 28ish...
or wherever we move down to

There were a few of us on here that hated it at the time too

For me...
we were thin on defense & had a bunch of forward prospects when that trade happened

Even if i didn’t like McNabb,
it just didn’t make sense to me

If the guy isnt a slam dunk just move on and accept this isnt the year to get the QB. Or wait til the later rounds. Draft your needs in the first and chalk it up. They had a chance to get their qb of the future last draft and took the risk to wait. Its not looking good for them to get their guy.

I would think there might be a team that would trade their 2nd this year and first next year and maybe a bit more to move up to one of our firsts this year. I would do it in a heartbeat if i were the bills.. I think trading down for more picks is almost always a good idea in the nfl draft. Not so much with the nhl draft.

I feel like putting us in this position is moving this team forward but I see where you are coming from. Ask this question again after the trade deadline and you’ll have a clearer answer

That’s fine too
The scenario i posted was assumingvthey wanted to take Rudolph
If they don’t,
I’d be ok with them moving down & picking up another pick and choosing bpa
We certainly have holes to fill

I’m not trying to criticize Botts or anything

Just saying that besides Mittelstadt,
there’s isn’t anything specific yet to look forward to

But the return in the Kane trade,
plus whoever we pick this year in the first
Those should be some more nice pieces

But he’s got a lot more holes than those to fill

Until they find the franchise qb i would take a qb or two every year in the lower rounds or undrafted free agency and bring them all into camp. Sooner or later you gotta think you would find a russel wilson, kirk cousins, tom brady guy somewhere along the way until youre in a position to take a sure fire first round guy. Keep trading down getting more picks and taking flyers on late rd guys.

GMTM dealt him a bad hand. You have to give to get, and with the limited assets we have we need to hold on to them and add to it.

I agree.

I just have a strange feeling that the kc pick turns into more picks. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd next year.

Just in case Patrick mahomes is really awesome, we have a bunch of good players to show for it.

Starting with the Tre day this year..

Any worries with some of the scouts leaving? I know we lost the player personal/ brian gaines to Houston as their gm .

Heard we have a few guys interviewing.

Yeah, I know. I was one of them. I absolutely loved McNabb, or at least the idea of what McNabb might become. In all honesty, though, he's been an average defenseman for most of his career thus far. Is he having a good year, or is he the byproduct of playing on a good team with a good coach?

I think we all wish gmtm had done exactly this. Im not going to call for botts to go make any big moves until this team grows up a bit and shows some flash of light in the tunnel. The less he does right now the better if you ask me. We gotta stockpile and develop some young assets first and foremost imo.
