I dislike the CHL/NHL rules. I think each team should be allowed to pull one 19 year old out of the CHL early to play in the AHL. It's clear Frost is ready for the next level of competition.

The AHL would be the perfect spot for him to start next season. I think the same thing was said about Laughton and Morin.

I agree. I understand why they are in place, but IMO it hurts certain players to the benefit of the leagues.

Yep. And it's not like Strome isn't already a better skater that 99% of the people in this world. He has some bad habits that can be corrected.

All that other stuff, the kid can play hockey......

Ive said before I am not a huge skating guy, but all skating issues aren't equal. Lindblom needed to be quicker. Strome needs to learn how to skate

About the ab surgery thing.

All hernias require abdominal surgeries but not all ab surgeries are for hernias.

You can get surgery on a torn abdominal muscle (transverse or rectus abdominis, oblique, and one other one I'm forgetting) just like you can get surgery on a torn groin.

A hernia is a specific incident when the intestine pokes through the abdominal wall, which is not a muscle, but connective tissue which sperate things from stuff.

To me it sounded like he had surgery on a torn ab muscle, which would make sense because you would be in acute pain like he was after tearing any muscle, an included. Hernias are typically chronic.

What's the specific difference between a sports hernia and a regular hernia? Because, I'm reading there is a difference. http://www.sportshernia.c...ernia-or-inguinal-hernia/

Scott Hartnell has had a decent career for someone who can't skate.

SSM will lose a bunch of guys next year. It might be a good thing for Frost. They will likely still have Hayton and Sandin, Roth (who Bill mentioned). They gave up a lot of assets to push this year, so I am wondering if they would trade Frost. I suspect he will stay another season and do the WJC thing.

Which would make him even more impressive if he broke 100 b2b

Bill, since you know both teams well. Do you see any fit for a Lehtonen trade between the Stars and Flyers? Figure Dallas may want to clear his cap hit to make other additions.
- Baxter27

Hadn't even thought about Kari, to be honest. Not sure the Stars would want to put all their eggs in the basket of Bishop being healthy and on top of his game for the duration of the stretch and playoffs. There have been a few times Hitch has given Lehtonen more than a spot start here and there although its' about a 2-to-1 ratio in terms of starts and more than that the last few months.

But Lehtonen won't be back with the Stars next season (after a long run in Dallas) and I suppose it is possible that he could be moved. Thing is, the Stars' pre-deadline outlook is to possibly add a piece for the stretch and playoffs, not sell a piece for a draft pick or prospect.

That's a long-winded way of saying I don't think there's a fit.

As you can see from this googled image. Trust me, I have thought long and hard about this. It seems like it could be either "hockey players syndrome" or just a regular "sports hernia"

I still think Lindblom needs to be a little quicker. That's the piece to fully conquer before he is ready for the role the Flyers envision him in. I'd also like to see him on a different line with the Phantoms. The line with Vorobyev and Read has been good on puck possession from the eyeball test at least, but isn't scoring much of anything.

I didn't think any contenders would give up a back up that's wht I thought dell name being floated was ridiculous. If we get a goalie other than Chad Johnson who gets floated a lot who are the more likely candidates ?

Inguinal hernia is a sports hernia. The V shape that points towards the Richardular region is the inguinal hernia location. Umbilical hernia is an old person/baby hernia. Belly button swells up. Nomenclature depends on where the tear is.

I truly don't know if he will ever be what the Flyers envision him in (from what I have heard they envision in him). I have my doubts. I just think he will be a very good, valuable player.

edit: I must also add that I don't see how any of it is really tied to playing more minutes and in all situations in the AHL vs NHL.

I don't understand why he can't come in and be coots esque early in his career and grow in time. I don't see anything wrong with a defensive responsible guy who pots 10/20/30 and is good in the dirty areas. I mean coots is a 3c and look what he's doing

I'm cool if that's how it plays out. He may have been over hyped last year by having such a good season over seas but now reality is settling in and more suitable expectations have arrived.

Any backup goalie on a non contending team with no term. Mrazek, Pickard, etc.

I think Hextall rides it out, his comments on the situation would suggest so.

I personally think his comments are posturing so that teams don't see him as desperate and over price guys.

You'd like to think that but any GM right now who gets a call from Hextall is going to bump for a little more.

Yup and I think he will wait it out and than when the team is about to get nothing for a pending ufa 24 hours before the deadline is up they'll trade it for less

Take a moment to appreciate the fact that the “Philly Special”, maybe the gutsiest play call in the history of the NFL, may have never occurred if Pederson didn’t instill that confidence in his players to make that suggestion and ultimately trust their input.

I have had 2 inguinal repairs in my lifetime, one of which was a bi-lateral. Both were my fault and separated by several years so I think the "chronic" nature can be a tad overblown.

Let's also appreciate that Pederson grew remarkably in his role. I'm as big a hasktol hater as anyone but he's gotten better. I still rank him in the bottom half of nhl coaches. As the youth movement continues by end of next season I think we will know whether hasktol has what it takes or if he's the next Berube.
