I was just thinking the same... hell would just like to see him on any line these days. But if anything, he's getting big minutes in Rockford and will be back next year better than when he left.

I have been saying this for a while. Sure would miss a large size center. We need a center like AA if we were a playoff calibre team. We won't be for at least 1-2 yr.. So dump his contract. He always misses chunks of a season due to injury anyway

This is probably more realistic, they’re not giving Anisimov away for nothing.

One thing I'll say about this game...The Hawks are playing a more aggressive forecheck, which is nice to see.

it seems like the quality scoring chances tonight were more than they've had in the entire 8 game losing streak. They could have easily had three more goals if guys had hit wide open nets.

It was good to see some jump all around the line up. There just might be some life left in 2, 7, and 19. I'm cautiously optimistic about next season. They need to add some talent to the roster but this team could have a comeback year in 2018-19.

Stan’s said he expects Hayden to be part of the youth movement, I’d expect he’ll be given every opportunity to stick with the club next season. My guess is that the time in Rockford will serve Hayden well and he’ll come back a better player.

I would be fine with the Hawks moving Anisimov and Murphy. I don't feel Murphy has been given a fair shake this year, but moving those two would create some good cap space in addition to the panarin bonus money coming off the books next year.

If those two fetched a Smith and Jenner in return, now all of a sudden they are deeper down the middle and tougher to play against.

I thought the Hawks looked good tonight because they were going to the net hard.

Apparently four fans were ejected for chanting basketball at devante in the penalty box. Somehow that's deemed ejectionable. Wonder if the hawks could have lawsuit on there hand unless they used a racial slur. Seems like a pretty harmless heckle. Everyone's so sensitive nowadays you can't even heckle at pro sporting events.

I think there are at least two different answers for two different audiences. Assuming they are either actively shopping and/or listening to offers for AA - or any other player, for that matter — the Hawks will probably only comment publicly that they are in love with their player and that he’s not going anywhere. Can’t think it’s a good thing that they go public that any specific player is being shopped because that has to be a negative to the player being mentioned. This is different than saying publicly that they are listening to offers that will make the club better but not naming anyone specific.

The second response is what they make in private to the potential trading partner. That is part of the negotiation process. Bowman would be even stupider than most of you think he is if he was going to keep us fully informed of what he is doing.

And the potential third comment might be what the hawks say in private to a player who is being shipped if that player asks about his status.

WGN game last night, meaning not on TV here in central Illinois.
Saw highlights. 'Hawks definitively solved the Caps defense.
Heard in comments here a couple of our young guys had runs taken at them. I continue to hope for pushback.
